Just got back...
After 6 days of park hopping and 10 hours of driving (broken up with a stay in Gainesville last night) I've forgotten most of them. The interstate is so full of stupid drivers (Really? You're going to come to a dead stop in the Northbound lanes for an ambulance that's in the Southbound lanes?) that it overwhelms the SGs at the parks.
The ones I can remember.
1) standing in line at Space Mountain. 25-30 yo SGDad to 6-8 y.o. son "I bet you'll scream like a little b***h."
2) At AK outside Outfitters, "We're heading to Dino-land..." pronounced DEENo-land. No idea if she expected the Flintstones or Dean Martin to be the focus.
3) Sunday afternoon, SWW at Studios. Couple walks into 50's Primetime at 2:15 pm, walks out, wife mumbling..."I didn't think we'd need reservations for lunch"
4) on Monorail from TTC to MK, looking at Grand Floridian "I'm not sure what that one is...Carribbean Beach, I bet."
5) On Pirates, boat behind us, 4-5 people in first 2 rows continually sparking flash bulbs throughout entire ride
6) in line at Splash. Lady in front of me, with group of 5 or so. 2 men leave line and hand her the "red time card" (I don't know what the name for them is...perhaps I will learn something from this thread). A minute or so later, she looks at me and asks me (in broken English, so I'll translate)
Her: Can you tell me how to use this?
Me: Yeah, you just give it to the Cast member before you board.
Her: *empty look in eyes*
Me: They use it to measure the wait times
Her: *continued empty look*...So...no benefit?
Me: *big smile* Just a big smile from the CM.
Her: *sour look on face, turns forward in line*
A few minutes later as we near FP/standby merge, I notice the card is no longer in her hand and don't see it anywhere on her or ppl in her group. I'm guessing it is now on foreign soil.
I'll have to remember some of the better ones.
Had a great time, Cast members were great, but I could see the frustration, especially on loading areas and at people not having FPs available to turn over to 2nd FP CM. I'd have a hard time not ad libbing from the official script in that situation.

Last year my 2 best friends and I were out at Disney Studios. I forgot to make lunch reservations at 50's prime time cafe. All of us went in and 30 minutes later we got to eat dinner. I am guessing we went on a slow day. I think it was a Monday.
Making the reservations is smart ahead of time. If it is slow, some places will let you come in a dine. If there is a line out the door and the wait is 45 minutes to 2 hours, no chance.

An people ask me why I sometimes hate parents (I'm a parent myself) and dislike adults. Parents can, and many times are, the most destructive part of a child's life. Working at WDW has convinced me that not everyone that wants to have a kid should.DonohoFlnkr wrote:The ones I can remember.

We did our trip towards the end of Oct 2009. The crowds were not bad either. We stayed at the Regal Sun and walked to Down Town Disney and got to the buses to the resorts. We had our daily walk. We also were there for the food and wine festival. That was allot of fun and we ended up at Epcot each evening to watch Illuminations. :)

Food and Wine Festival is a great time to be there. Crowds in October seem to get larger and larger, but wait times are still excellent.turkeyham wrote:We did our trip towards the end of Oct 2009. I remembered another one last night, but I've forgotten it now....oh yeah.
Stayed at AKLodge and we're waiting at the MK bus stop to head back to hotel. we were very front of the line with a full row and a half of people behind us, waiting for bus to arrive.
Family of 8 comes walking up next to us, through the wheelchair aisle- with no one in wheelchair and skipping everyone else in line- to stand beside us.
As my family and myself are standing there, they begin talking with themselves. Little 2-4yr old offspring "Susie" (balloon in one hand, ice cream in the other) decides to walk out to the white line where the bus aims to stop. Now, the bus isn't arriving just yet, but who's to stop her from going out into the road as the other buses arrive? ....After 30-40 seconds of her standing there, I'm thinking I'm gonna have to do it myself (knowing full well that if I do, SG mom or dad is going to assault me for it) so I wait another 10 seconds and look over to SG mom who without moving from her place in family group finally raises her voice to just above normal talking range and says nothing more than, "That's not were you're supposed to go. You come back here." Little "susie" finally walks back to group and bus arrives.
After getting on bus, I look around to see where little balloon girl is (after hearing front desk CM tell us that no balloons are allowed at AKL). I don't see her or her family. I ask my BIL and Dad if they got on. They laugh and say that when the bus arrived and had AKL as the destination, SG mom and dad asked if this was the bus to the parking lot and where they could find the bus to get there.
Re: Just got back...
We spent the first weekend in June at WDW, stayed at BLT. Had a wonderful time.
Although he ended up not being a SG, on our way back from MK Saturday evening (to BLT) a man walking along with us (in a red shirt! LOL) asked, "So, how did you all know to wear red?"
He really was a nice guy, but that was a pretty funny question.
Hate the SG with the flash on the dark rides. POC was a real trial with three of them in the boat with us flashing all over the place.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
