I'm confused, is there an official Disney policy stating adults cannot wear costumes? Or is this an official SGT policy?
Please, please, please, say both! And if so please tell me the stories that made it necessary to have a rule against adults in costumes!
Or is it just because too many people try to pass themselves off as CM's?
It kind of creeps me out when I see some mom's making their own clothes to match their kids costumes... though I might be persuaded to wear a crown ;)

Not being a CM myself, I can't be sure what does or doesn't constitute a costume. However, I could see how showing up in a traditional Mouseketeer outfit might trip a few red flags. From what I understand, adults are only allowed in costume during Halloween, and even then they have some rather strict rules regarding Disney-themed costumes. Then again, I wasn't exactly expecting my prior post to be taken too seriously. :cat1:

yes, there is a policy and just like you said, the exception are the costumed events. (and star wars weekend? not sure about that one)

pass themselves off as CM's? I doubt you would even get near the gate.

CM's? is that a problem, having people show up in CM costumes?

(don't think I have ever heard of that SG trick)

Yes, this is a problem. Not often but it happens more than others might think. STG will walk through front gates in street clothes then change into Disney Character costumes in restrooms. Had this happen a few weeks ago near Mad Hatter. Looked up to see Peter Pan signing autographs, laughing, tallking to guests, & having his pic taken. Just seemed very odd. Pan on Main St.? Alone? He was tall? Hair was not quite Pan's hair. Called Com Stat. Hub 3 officer was there at once as fake Pan ran to restrooms near Guide 2.

That is not to bright with that SG. I did meet the guy who does the Superman look a like in Hollywood. This dude was good looking too.

To dress up and look like a face character when you are not is bad show on their part. Did that guy get tossed after changing?

To dress up is "bad show.? Ya, just kind of. I'd bet my Memorial Day check he was escorted out or arrested. Ask Troy.
