connecting rooms not available?

Post by xoxomeomi » Mon Jun 07, 2010 11:42 am

ok so without a lot of drama and fanfare (like what happened when asked on another board).
if we book connecting rooms for our family of 6 (children will be ages 5,3,3, and 1 at the time) and they aren't available, are we going to get kicked out of disney if we still pay for two rooms and just choose to sleep together in one?

If it's a problem then I would just book one 5+1 room at CR and then later cry that we don't get a kiddie pool or super neat playground (which my kids would use) though I guess being on the monorail to MK is nothing to sneeze at.

It is actually cheaper for us to stay at CR in a 5+1 rack rate room than to book two CSR rooms or one CSR 6+1 suite at rack rate.

Anyway like I said please just a clear cut answer, I'm not trying to get out of paying for two rooms or anything like that, I just want to be in the same room as my whole family so in case of an emergency like a fire or something I know where everyone is, thanks.

haha one of my posts on my thread over at board x (where I mistakenly asked this question) was deleted and my thread closed because someone got their panties in a twist because they had almost 25,000 posts and I dared to suggest she should lighten up. wow, I thought that board x had some good information. I was wondering where all this drama was everyone was talking about (besides the goody bag post as that was the one that lead me here lol) but now I see. Apparently you must worship people who have 25,000 posts haha.
I can't believe how a simple question can be turned into drama.

yeah, thats what lead me here.

there are quite a few CM's that post here that REALLY know the information, unlike all the "experts" on board x.

some that post here even work at the CR!!

with a family that big (and the kids being that young) I would think that you would want a single room, if nothing else than to keep an eye on them.

size wise you would probably do better at the 6+1 room..

Zazu?

yeah I think we will just go ahead and do CR, it will be easier for nap time and I'm sure my kids will be so excited about everything at the parks that they won't care what's at the resort.

This is my second post but I post frequently on board x.

Have you thought of a cabin at Fort Wilderness?

Separate bed room full kitchen car right outside your door and more "resort stuff" than any other resort.

Only issue is one bathroom.

Not to start anything, but I don't believe this board is for these types of planning questions.

Will it make it better if I started swearing at the OP. :)

I'm desperately trying to come up with something witty/snarky to redeem myself... alas, I can't think of anything. Please berate me so i can feel redeemed? lol

They should be. You'll clearly have kids alone in the second room, and for that WDW will guarantee connecting rooms.
... are we going to get kicked out of disney if we still pay for two rooms and just choose to sleep together in one?
Only if we catch you. It's the fire code that limits how many guests can be in any given room, and if WDW is caught knowingly violating that, we get fined (and you get tossed out).
If it's a problem then I would just book one 5+1 room at CR...
If by "CR" you mean "Contemporary Resort", I don't know what you mean by "5+1 room", and I should since I work there. Except for suites, our rooms take five guests, period.
... and then later cry that we don't get a kiddie pool or super neat playground (which my kids would use) though I guess being on the monorail to MK is nothing to sneeze at.
The Contemporary has a new play area at the pool, I don't think your kids will be too disappointed (unless they remember Stormalong Bay from another trip).

True, we don't have a playground any more.
Anyway like I said please just a clear cut answer, I'm not trying to get out of paying for two rooms or anything like that, I just want to be in the same room as my whole family so in case of an emergency like a fire or something I know where everyone is, thanks.
Quite understandable. When you call to book two rooms, ask if it's being registered as "guaranteed connecting" or just "requested connecting". Makes a big difference at the Front Desk.
