Re: ? For Keepers of the Gates
AHHHHHH!!!!!
....
Now that I've got that out of my system:
This is a perfect instance of "I'm more important and special than everyone else so I shouldn't have to follow rules and ethical thinking" thinking.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
This is clear and cut exploiting something for personal gain. If everyone did it, fastpass would be broken. But since you are so high and mighty and special, you should get to do it anyways.
(This is why socialism/communism would never work, but that's a different discussion)

Thank for your input. I did not realize this - my daughter and Dneice are excellent swimmers..... Did not think I would have to be with them.MyLittleAngels wrote:Also, please keep in mind that tweens should always be supervised at a pool. You mentioned them having their swimsuits on already ... Children unfer (I believe it's 16) are required to be supervised at the pools. This is for your (their) safety/enjoyment as well as the safety/enjoyment of others.

Let's revisit this just for a second.kurtisnelson wrote: Now that I've got that out of my system:

If the FP system were networked tomorrow across all four parks and was enabled so that you could take your groups' passes to another park (without scanning them in that park) and get a set, would you still be crying "ethical! criminal! circumventer! blah, blah, blah?" ?
Of course not. So, the OP asked a question, which took quite a few posts to get to the correct answer, thanks to Shorty a few pages back and Joanna just a few above.
BTW, I've been here quite a while before the stupid Goody Bag thread, so you'll just have to live with it. I was dealing with idiot guests in 1994. "Get out of that planter!"
Re: ? For Keepers of the Gates
BTW, whatever you think Fastpass was "designed" to do, you are perfectly free to leave the park, take a swim at the hotel, visit another park, do whatever you like between the time the FP is issued to a valid park ticket and the window of return time.PhilimusPrime wrote: Fastpass was designed as a service to get guests to shop, dine, and see other attractions within that park that they might not have normally done if they were waiting in standby queues. It was never intended for guests who were not in the park - your entire party has to be in that park to use it.

Most definitely. Loved doing this between parks in Anaheim and can't wait to visit Paris and Toyko too. It's a bit a drive to leave the parks here, although I've done all four plus the Pleasure Island clubs back in the day.orljustin wrote:BTW, whatever you think Fastpass was "designed" to do, you are perfectly free to leave the park, take a swim at the hotel, visit another park, do whatever you like between the time the FP is issued to a valid park ticket and the window of return time.
Majority of guests don't though and don't understand that they can utilize the Fastpass any time after the return window for that day. This isn't explicitly spelled out for guests OR cast anywhere - just word of mouth. I've seen guests leave in the middle of non-moving attractions just to make their Fastpass window. Oddly enough when finding out an attraction does not offer Fastpass, decide it's not worth their time or deem that it could not be as good. Fastpass plays all kind of mind games with the stupid guests and it's just what Disney wants.

For the most part this is true. I believe a few attractions enforce the end time too due to how extremely busy that attraction is. Also, this can change at anytime, if management wants us to be strict on the end time we'll be strict on the end time.PhilimusPrime wrote:Majority of guests don't though and don't understand that they can utilize the Fastpass any time after the return window for that day.
It was spelled out to me in my training, while we don't blatantly advertise the fact if a guest asks we'll tell them. We're not strict on the end time as there are so many things that can cause the guest to come back late, a meal ran long, they got caught in a long line somewhere, the attraction was down during their return window, etc. We also appreciate people coming back during their window as that helps us keep both lines (Fastpass and Standby) moving.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…

Only if you are planning on using all the FPs for yourself and not for your party. It's like grabbing 4 free things from some table when there is only you and there are people behind you who also want the free things.orljustin wrote:Let's revisit this just for a second.

I can attest to be turned away from Soarin with a "late FP" during Food and Wine visit - I was able to appeal to the manager as we were in the First Aid department for our return time - I truly didnt think it would be a problem, the first CM on the attraction let us thru - the 2nd CM that took our FP however insisted that we leave with the "invalid" FP.Shorty82 wrote:For the most part this is true. (I didnt yell, or get upset, I knew it was the CM's job to look closely at the FP, so I just went and asked politely if under the circumstances of First Aid, could he reconsider, since the attraction wasnt that crowded )

This is the very reason it annoys me slightly when a Guest asks about FastPass and the CM tells them the end of the return time window doesn't matter...Shorty82 wrote:For the most part this is true. Re: ? For Keepers of the Gates
I have a slightly off-topic question. If a guest knows about "secret" things, things that aren't normally advertised but require either prior knowledge or knowing someone that actually works for WDW or DLR, as a CM does that change your opinion of that guest? Would that elevate that guest to either an annoyance or someone that is trying to take advantage of the system? I hope this question doesn't make me a Stupid Guest :p:Alyssa3467 wrote:This is the very reason it annoys me slightly when a Guest asks about FastPass and the CM tells them the end of the return time window doesn't matter...![]()
