Honestly, no one can take you seriously about your claims about Walt because you never cite or source the things that you have said about him.
The things you have said about Walt and this thoughts on Disneyland are not true, and I think that you know it.
For the last time, Walt's only regret about Disneyland was that he did not purchase enough land. He did love Disneyland.
And if you claim that Disneyland is such a supposed "mistake" then why is the park still open 55 years later?

Me too, but I still see the posts whenever someone quotes them. And the things being said about Walt are outrageous.CBeilby wrote:I already did.

Also understand that Walt could not afford to buy more land. Heck, he paid OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET for stuff to get done.
To hell with the ignore button, there are much better options to deal with this guy.

I jump to nothing, Look around tell me how many original attractions have been replaced or re-themed? A LOT OF THEMPatchOBlack wrote:Once again, you jump to the conclusion that, because Disney has replaced or re-themed a few attractions, they MUST be intending to remove all the old attractions in short order. No, that isn't a logical conclusion. Perhaps, after several years, even a few decades, many of the original attractions will be replaced or greatly changed, but that is far from certain. Your sarcasm is not welcome as well.
No one said you have to agree. But it's obvious you have no ides what's going on.PatchOBlack wrote:Not agreeing with your conclusions does not mean I have no idea what has been going on.
Sorry, not my fault it's a lack-luster parkPatchOBlack wrote:You seem to disparage it quite a bit, so it does seem you are insulting it.
And yet you have not shown this. Walt was VERY disappointed in DL. he IMMEDIATELY started plans for another park.PatchOBlack wrote:We have already had some concrete evidence to the contrary. Yes, Walt did say mistakes were made at DL. That things could have been done better. However, that is not the same as saying that DL was, as a whole, a mistake, nor that said mistakes have not been corrected, at least in part.
Actually it was the other way around Walt saw the many, Many, MANY mistakes made with DL and decided it was best to fix them with another park.PatchOBlack wrote:Might we have an independent confirmation of this? Of course, even if it is true, it just means that Walt, being forward thinking, had decided that if DL worked out, that have two theme parks wasn't a bad idea.
Your right it's all in how you use the space. I love the feeling of walking into a small department store that is so packed full of stuff you can not even push a cart around. But they used every bit of open floor space to display their products.PatchOBlack wrote:It isn't just a matter of how big or small a place is. It is a matter of how you use the space. I think DL makes good use of the area it has. Of course, one could look at WDW and say that it is too spread-out and sprawling. Since I have not been there, I will refrain from making such a judgment, of course.
PatchOBlack wrote:EDIT: In regards to you not being mad and not yelling: While you are not typing in all caps (signifying yelling), the way you are phrasing things does suggest that you are upset. To be more specific, you are upset that WDW does not remain the same, and you feel that any changes made are a bad thing. Are you entitled to your opinion? Sure. However, when you make that opinion public, you also invite comment regarding said opinion, including how the opinion was presented, and if there is a valid basis for the given opinion.
You can think what you want. but I an not mad or yelling. If I were you would know. I am just standing by my opinion, like it or not. This is a discussion board and I am discussing my views on this matter.

I do not have to cite anything DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Stop only reading, watching, listening to the "rainbows and lollipops" of Disney. Look into the real stories. From the people that were there when it all happened, and I don't mean those books and videos that are marketed by Disney. Expand your minds a little.

Re: Another one bites the dust
And look how many original attractions are still there. These are just the ones that opened with the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971 or just a few days later and haven't changed significantly (Snow White, Enchanted Tiki Room, etc.) in all these years. A similar list could very easily be made for Disneyland.Honda Enoch wrote:I jump to nothing, Look around tell me how many original attractions have been replaced or re-themed? A LOT OF THEM
The Walt Disney World Railroad, the Main Street Vehicles, Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Tree House, Country Bear Jamboree, Peter Pan's Flight, it's a small world, Cinderella's Golden Carrousel attraction (has a new name but same attraction), Frontier Shooting Gallery, Hall of Presidents, Liberty Belle Riverboat (name and actual vessel has changed since opening), and the Haunted Mansion.
(Above mostly from here and from my own knowledge of the MK)
Neither do you apparently. No one said you have to agree. But it's obvious you have no ides what's going on.
LACKLUSTER?!?! Disneyland is by no means "lackluster"! I recommend you visit there before spouting off any more disparaging remarks about the original Disney park!Sorry, not my fault it's a lack-luster park
You're the one that hasn't shown anything. Others have shown proof Walt loved Disneyland. Walt didn't hate the park, it was his baby. Yes, he made mistakes there, he was only human after all and had VERY limited funds to build the park with. And yet you have not shown this. Walt was VERY disappointed in DL. he IMMEDIATELY started plans for another park.
Disneyland makes excellent use of their limited space. It doesn't feel crowded, tight or anything like that.Your right it's all in how you use the space. I love the feeling of walking into a small department store that is so packed full of stuff you can not even push a cart around. But they used every bit of open floor space to display their products.
When you state something as a fact it is YOUR responsibility to cite sources. Others have cited sources and have backed up with proof their statements but you can't or won't do so. That makes everything you say suspect.I do not have to cite anything DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Stop only reading, watching, listening to the "rainbows and lollipops" of Disney. Look into the real stories. Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Re: Another one bites the dust
Honda... you seem to have a misplaced sense of entitlement, both in your thought that Disney should cater to your nostalgia and not force the "real world" on you by changing with the times, and in the fact that you expect others to do the research to back up YOUR points. You make a point. You back it up. I make a point. I back it up. That's how debate works. If you do not wish to have a debate, then I suggest you allow others to have, and express, opinions which differ from yours, without insulting them. No one's bashing you for having a differing opinion. They're calling you a troll because rather than backing up your points, you resort to flinging insults at anyone who disagrees with you.

Honda does not seem to like it here, I have a feeling that he would be right at home on board X.
