Ok, fine Mickey's House, Minnie's House, Donald's House, and EVERYTHING elee that makes up toon town are ATTRACTIONS. ALL being torn down.
Shorty82 wrote:Toontown is really showing it's age, especially backstage, and not in a good way. The buildings themselves just weren't built to last a long time. The best solution is to tear it down and rebuild it.
But they are not doing that, they are tearing it down and replacing it.
Shorty82 wrote:Really? I haven't heard that. I'll have to ask around and see what I can find out. Someone in my area ought to know about that considering I am a Fantasyland Ops CM.
See the disney parks blog they posted a video about it last week.
Shorty82 wrote:Again, Walt himself wanted the parks to change. He didn't want everything to remain stagnant. Change is important, it brings new guests to the park and gives people a reason to come back. In the end it all boils down to what makes the most financial sense for the company. Disney is a corporation in business to make money.
Don't EVEN bring Walt into this If he were alive today he would fire every employee that worked for Disney Co. Walt's vision of Disney died along with him.
Shorty82 wrote:Yes there is plenty of room on property to build new things without tearing down old things but it wouldn't make financial sense. It costs a lot of money to build, operate, and maintain attractions. Not the least of which is the pay of the CMs to run the rides. Also, there's just not much room left in the MK to expand. About the only available space of large enough size within the berms is the old 20,000 Leagues lagoon, which has been empty for many years. That area is where the Little Mermaid attraction and the Beauty and the Beast restaurant will be built.
Oh Please, financial sense. HA HA HA Disney throws away more money each year then you and I could ever imagine.
Shorty82 wrote:The expansion will be a very good thing for WDW. Dumbo, a classic, is doubling in size which will help a LOT. That attraction is always very busy and has a very low hourly ride count.
Yes, a few of the things coming with this expansion are long time needed, like the Dumbo change. But most of it is un needed crap just being used as an excise to tear down classic attractions.
