"But The Front Desk Manager Said I Could Shoplift!"

Post by glendalais » Thu May 27, 2010 9:31 pm

Here's a doozie for you all.

I had a Guest come in the other day, grab a bag off the shelf and come up to the register saying that Manager X at the Front Desk had said she could take it because of some inconvenience, and that X would be by later that day to pay for it.

Now, I'm sure we can all see the red flags throughout that scenario, so while the CM on the register kept trying to figure it out, I slipped out to double check.

I made it just out of the floor when this woman comes flying up behind me and runs for a DME bus outside screaming all sorts of profanity. I go back in, and the Register CM tells me that the woman just began screaming and threw the bag at her face.

Anyway, we checked with Manager X later that day, and not only did she not have any clue what we were talking about, she said she hadn't sent anyone to our shop since she had come on

Some people, eh?

There are a lot of nutty people in the world...And they seem to be attracted to Disney property.

Per Safety and Security policies.. she just commited a Fellony on property by assaulting a CM if she "threw it at her face".

Guest can be arrested by Orange County for that. I have had many guests threaten me and then be hauled off to the county lockup afterwards... Zazu has too...

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Don't kid yourself, that kind of insanity isn't limited to theme parks...it is the world today. People with severe mental illness problems that have the RIGHT to not take medication that might keep them on an even keel. All in the name of "rights of the individual" with total disregard for the health and safety of the general public. I'm all in favor of freedom, in fact I spent a year of my life supposedly fighting for it, but when it is described as "freedom to destroy yourself and others around you" it takes an entirely different and ominous meaning. I didn't fight for that!

Mental Illness ≠ a "health and safety" threat to the general public. Mental illness ≠ rude, selfish, entitled behavior. I know plenty of folks with "severe mental illness problems" who are quiet, reserved, polite, and gracious. And I know plenty of obnoxious boors who are clinically sane.

Unfortunately you seem to have gotten someone who takes what can happen at Disney and decided to try it for themselves. With all the sites on the internet devoted to Disney, stories get out and more and more people try and get something for themselves by working on stories that they read.

Bet this person read how a Disney resort allowed someone to get something for free at the resort gift shop to make up for something that happened and just decided to try it for themselves. Guess they didn't figure that their story would be checked out or that usually the guess is given something official to give to the CM in the gift store. So not only was this person a stupid guest...they were also a pretty stupid crook.

Hello Kylara, I am the resident dragon and would like to be the first to offer you a very warm* welcome to that slice of the internet we call SGT. This website contains threads with quick twists and turns and I would like to advise you to not try to hard to keep up with them. Please keep your hands, arms, and legs safely inside the website at all times and enjoy your stay. You can expect a member of the Marsupial Welcoming Committee to be along to welcome you officially.

*this instance of warm is actually hot**... very hot

**this instance of hot means that you are now literally on fire, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience
