After long lurking...........
Re: After long lurking...........
Welcome Ice Bear. And I got to ask - what the heck is a VIP cleaning and do I really want one?

Re: After long lurking...........
I always thought Christopher Reeve was a master at that, especially in the first movie. There's that moment in Lois Lane's apartment where he (as Clark) briefly considers telling Lois his secret -- and he not only takes off the glasses, but he completely changes his posture and exudes strength and authority. Then he thinks better of it, pops the glasses back on, and his neck and shoulders slump and he goes back to stammering as he speaks. One of my favorite moments in the film.PatchOBlack wrote:...In more recent times, the glasses are strictly earth-made. However, it is explained that when he is Clark Kent, he is very careful to keep "in character" as Clark. Superman, for example, uses bold gestures and is rather dynamic is his manner. Clark, on the other hand, is very reserved, to the point of almost being dull. Throw in differences in hair-style, a little change in the tone of his speaking voice, and people might say "You know, he looks a little like Superman, but not that much."...

Yes, Mr. Reeve did an admirable job, though in the later films, Clark was more of a characture played for laughs. However, that might have been the fault of the writer or the director.BRWombat wrote:I always thought Christopher Reeve was a master at that, especially in the first movie. Its a very expensive special room cleaning for people with asthma or a bad allergy.GaTechGal wrote:Welcome Ice Bear. And I got to ask - what the heck is a VIP cleaning and do I really want one?
If this word comes up suddenly every one needs one. If they have a soar throat, autistic child or a toe nail that hurts they want this cleaning.
I was talking to a CM that reads "over there "also and she told my that every time a threat was started about this subject they could prepare themselves for dozens off VIP cleanings.
That,in the long run, they just make the prices go up for all of us with their ridiculous and unnecessary requests doesn't seem to matter at all.

Sometimes I don't want to know...I really don't want to think about it. I might not be able to sleep the next time I have to stay in a hotel.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:when I had to travel a lot, my DW got me a little battery operated travel UV light.

Did you ever see the episode of "Monk" where he is staying in a hotel room? I think he had a small army of maids standing by as he went over the room with a UV light.

Bring your own inflatable bed and blankets and pillows from home or a large plastic hamster ball.

One of the things that DW was going to get me was a silk "sleeping bag", really more like a sleeping bag liner, that you could use in a hotel so you wouldn't touch the sheets. it even had a pouch big enought to stuff a pillow in.
but since we always stayed at fairly good hotels near the airport, it wasn't a problem.

Denial of all germs' existence works for me, otherwise I'd never get near my patients!GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:One of the things that DW was going to get me was a silk "sleeping bag", really more like a sleeping bag liner, that you could use in a hotel so you wouldn't touch the sheets. it even had a pouch big enought to stuff a pillow in.
