A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

http://www.spokeo.com/ is a commercial search product that reveals all kinds of info about yourself that you did not know even existed. What appears to be verey deep data mining often comes back with crazy incorrect details. And they are intermixed with accurate data.
Look yourself up, have a laugh, then ask them to remove you from their database! A friend in NYC found it had her last 6 addresses, unlisted number, and stated her home had a pool, and she had 3 kids. The pool and kids were a miss, but the other data was accurate.

Scarry.

I was happy to find that I am not listed either. They don't seem to have any listing outside the US.
Our privacy laws are different here, so much so that facebook had to change their policy to comply with Canadian law.

Ugh, too bad they show me, but thank god I move 2-3 times a year so they don't have my correct address.

This site is awesome! I plugged in my name and current location, and it had me listed. And I'm glad it did, too, because without it I never would have realized that I've lived in a million-dollar home in a different suburb for the past 26 years, which I share with my wife Karen and my sons Clifford and Joshua; that I never graduated college and I make my living in farming/agriculture; that I have dogs and a swimming pool; and that my zodiac sign is Cancer. None of which is even remotely correct.

(It helps that being in law enforcement, by Texas law some of my information is kept out of public databases.)

I read about this site on snopes..
they do data mining and often will make connections of information to you by someone of the same name.
they suspect that if you send in an e-mail asking it to be removed, it will do not much good, as the infor was gotten from public sites in the first place and they have no authority or ability to remove it.
snopes did say that if you send in the message to remove, they suspect they are harvesting your e-mail address for targeted spam.
I checked mine..not even close, but a lot of my info is not available anyway.
hehehehehe

Apparently, I live two towns over, on a street with a name remarkably similar to my last address, except that address was in this town too... so... no. Also I'm a single Sagittarius, living alone in a single family home built in 1943. Yeah.... no.
The only thing they got remotely right is my age and race.
