Well, I need time to find my keys, get the gun down, unlock the box, find the ammo, load it, and then get down to business. The sign is the first line of defense, our German Shepherd is the second, and then guns ;)Main Streeter wrote:This read is just too dang long Kman. :D:

Oh yeah, one day I was working at home and some guy came and stuck some ad on the door (we get them all the time), she started to bark and I look out the window to see the guy running away.Main Streeter wrote:LOL Your German Shepherd is the best defense. :) Even my 2 American Cocker's bark will scare off. Re: Guest Assistance Cards Are NOT Fastpasses!!!
I had a party of 9 the other day that i told we were sorry that we can only only six, the line was moving fast enough so i said that three people could go in the line and we'd meet them up all together to ride. All of the family was really nice about it, except for grandma in the card. She said she didnt understand why there was this rule, and I told it to do with the state. Where she proceeds to tell me that FL (WDW) doesnt do this to them and that this has been to much of a hassle and they are never coming back to disneyland. For the rest of the time she kept talking about how much FL is better, which was for about 15 minutes. It was funny in all of her tirad about this she wasnt mad at me, she said she enjoyed talking to me, she just hated the park and told me to come to FL where things are better.

I can assure you WDW does this too. The limit on the GAC is 6 guests normally. We can sometimes make exceptions but not usually. It depends on the attraction and the capacity of its vehicles.Beatlegirl28 wrote:Where she proceeds to tell me that FL (WDW) doesnt do this to them and that this has been to much of a hassle and they are never coming back to disneyland. Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Entrapment
I know that in Northern Virginia they would set up a soberiaty checkpoint and put up a warning sign more than a block away, which would give people an opportunity to turn off that street. They still would catch DUIs.

Re: Guest Assistance Cards Are NOT Fastpasses!!!
We are back (boo) but we had a great trip. I must say that once again I really applaud all the CM's at WDW who helped us have a great trip. Everyone was very accomodating to us and super friendly to our son who unfortunately had a really hard time. We are so used to hearing people criticize us (you know... ADHD isn't a "real" disability) so it was great to be in such an accomodating environment.
We are going to talk with his specialist at the next visit about some new medication options to help offset the OCD/hyper-sensitivity issues that will hopefully help us out. The biggest lesson learned is that we have to take longer breaks during the day and give him time in the room to settle down more.
I am so sorry to hear all the stories about people who are rude & obnoxious to CM's - I truly appreciate all the wonderful service we were given & it really did help us to have a much better vacation!

Re: Guest Assistance Cards Are NOT Fastpasses!!!
A colleague of mine had the "joy" of dealing with a family, who had the GAC, and was more than rude to her.
99.999999999% of the time, we are approached by wonderful, kind, and excited "Make a Wish" families who are always very respectful to our cast, friendly, and understanding of the policies of our attractions regarding the GAC. This family, however, absolutely stunned us, using this only phrase "We're 'Make a Wish' we don't wait in line" as their only response to anything we said.
Now our attraction policy states that if we are in a sustained wait, we take guests with GACs through the alternate entrance. However, if we are not in a sustained wait (which we consider under 20 min) that they use the standard ACCESSIBLE queue. Our alternate entrance is a backstage area, and a cast member must escort the parties from the backstage entrance to the loading area of the attraction.
We had at maximum, a 10 minute wait- probably not even. My colleague attempted everything in having this guest use our queue, as they would probably be waiting longer for alternate entrance access as opposed to using our queue. She of course came back with "We're 'Make a Wish...' yadda yadda yadda." And as another cast member approached the group to ask her about something not related, the first words the mother uttered were "Is this the person that is going to take us back through the alternate entrance?" They even went so far as to expect that cast members with duties outdoors to drop their positions (I might mention that they are SAFETY CRITICAL positions) to escort this party back... in attractions, we can't do that unless we have someone coming in to relieve us of our position...
It amazes me how ungrateful some people can be sometimes...
PS- We did eventually escort the family though the alternate entrance...
