Freind Heights...

Post by Mayonnaise » Thu May 06, 2010 12:42 pm

Ok, this may have been asked, before but I searched and I couldn't find it. My Significant other is always talking about relocating to SoCal, since he's a 3D animator, and having trouble getting work in this area, and I've always thought if we did, that I would love to go out to work as a Friend of the Characters at Disneyland.

Well I was in a Musical recently, (It's my love of theater that inspires this in me) and discovered rather to my delight and surprise that one of my fellow cast members was a former CP Friend of Micky and Minnie. Dressing room talk often went in that direction thereafter, sometimes with tales similar to those heard here on SGT... and I mentioned my aspirations... should I be relocated to SoCal... several other members of the musical cast were interested too... so she was telling us the height requirements and such...

Well suffice it to say I'm told I'm definitely too tall to be Mouse Height, and probably too short to be a Chipmunk Height... (I'm Five Foot 1 and 1/4 inches.)

Are there really height ranges where one cannot audition to be friends with anyone?

At 5'1, you would be friends with the chipmunks. However, it is possible to be too tall (or too short) to be friends with the characters. The characters run from aprox 4'10 or so up to 6'6.

Yay Chipmunks! *Bounces.*

It's sad that folk under 4'10 and over 6'6 can't be friends with anyone...

So, at 5'10 who's friend could I be?

6'6" is the upper limit? Hey, cool -- I'm 6'5"! I could be a friend!!!

But only if they create a Jabba the Hutt character... :o: :D:

Likewise, I consider myself too fat, too old, and too not-wanting-to-stand-in-the-hot-sun to be friends with anyone either.

Yeah, but an inch shorter and you'd be standing with me in the Tweedle Zone.

Sorta like the Group W bench, only not as likely to be called in.
