It's neat, but call me a purist....I like meeting Mickey as he is.

That's understandable, after years of things being a certain way, its always going to be a shock when something like this changes.

Still, this could potentially solve the age-old issue of children wondering why characters are mute.

Of course, its important to note that this was a test. So it could be quite a while before a character experience like this becomes a full-time thing. (If at all)

Hope none of the Cm's have a bad day.

Wonder what the CM would have been saying in this video.

NOTE: before anyone says it. I know Pluto does not talk. Well, he did once.

One of the comments on the blog is interesting... they say deaf people like to interact with the furs because they communicate in gesture, and this might change that. I do hope they will retain the ability to "speak" with out speaking as they always have, even if they someday begin to speak out lout more often.

Does the friend control the facial features and provide the base voice, or is there an additional friend behind the electronics ? It could be quite the team operation if a second friend is required.

I don't think these are the same heads used for shows.
with those the actor just follows along with the shows program.

a funny thing thou, Aaron Fector of Chuck E Cheese fame thought of the AA head for his CEC figures, but dragged his feet and never did a patten for them. I bet he feels really bad now. his idea to broadcast show data and sound to a computer aa head was lightyears ahead of it's time.

I think it would be fun to meet Mickey as he was.

Walt gave voice approval to one of the first friends of Mickey at Disneyland. Probably would have continued this, but it was too hard to find people who cold both do the voice *and* be trusted to say the right thing.

Ah, that's right...I remember hearing a little bit about that.

I personally think that this is really cool!

Even though it was just "play-testing" and that it will probably be a while before we see this kind of character experience again, it definitely has a lot of potential.

Deserves it? Yes. Getting it? No.

Call me a killjoy.

Now, for my opinion.

This is awesome. And to think, I was at Disneyland last week, we went through Mickey's house and decided not to wait to meet him. And we might have got this show! Now I am kicking myself.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
