How dare you call yourself Techie then.techie-13 wrote:Done.
I don't have a smart phone. I only got a cell phone in the last year and since I didn't want to spend too much (plus I already have an iPod Touch), I got a basic cell phone.

Did/Done. Though mine is a basic Tracfone (does that mean I have a dumb phone?:D :) , I had to look up the smartphone ratings in my Consumer Reports Buyer's Guide; I think when and if I get a smartphone, it'll be a Blackberry. So I chose that for the what phone interests you most? question.

I am an unemployed, back in school full-time, techie with a husband that is cheap. And he knows that I want the latest and greatest, but I know the budget can't handle it if I want to be able to talk him into trips to visit the mouse.CujoSR wrote:How dare you call yourself Techie then.
Pick your battles and avoid the ones you really don't need to get into. ;)
He allowed the cellphone in the budget because of sick relatives and the need for the union to call me just about wherever I am when they have overhire work.

Couldn't complete the survey. The third question asks about employment status and didn't have "employed part-time" as an option.figment1986 wrote:http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SCMPTB8
please take it, we need more results for a research paper that's due Monday.
Design of surveys is a non-trivial subject; this is just one example of how they can fail.

And I agree that my phone is a PHONE first, and a nifty little handheld computer second.
I just like the ability to take a pic of my daughter freaking out while meeting Handy Manny, and being able to send it to my parents halfway across the country without using a text message. *LOL*

The person who created the survey for the group forgot part-time as an option sadly. As a group we came up with the options so more than college students could take it, yet the person forgot some stuff tailoring it towards college for some reason.Zazu wrote:Couldn't complete the survey. Ironically we had a fight over the smart phone categories since windows doesn't make their own phones and neither does android/Google while blackberry, palm, and apple does, which is why palm is an option yet windows and android are under other.
