Mobile SGTs
I swear, some SGs don't know how to drive an ECVs. They seem to run into everything: walls, trashcans, poles, strollers, and people!!!!
So, yesterday, me and a couple of friends were hanging out in Toon Town talking when out of the corner of my eye, I saw an elderly man driving an ECV close to the curb. I watched in awe and shock as the gentleman drove his ECV OFF THE CURB!! It was like watching it in slow motion as he drove off the curb and falling, ECV and all, onto the ground. As good bystanders, my friends and I got up and helped the gentleman slowly to his feet. Afterwards, when the gentleman drove away as nothing had happened, I chuckled under my hands, not showing it. it was sad at what happened, but funny at the whole situation, lol!!

He musta been four wheelin'.
Do you know how to identify a math major?
They take a can of spray paint and cruise mall parking looking for jacked up four wheel drive trucks with the super graphic, 4 X 4, on the side. They take the spray paint and add, = 16.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Mobile SGTs
I've seen that more than once. One time a lady drove her ECV straight off the curb, fell over and had to be transported to the hospital on a backboard and wearing a cervical collar.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

That would be a normal precaution for the medics to take in that type of accident. In today's litigious society (No offense Wombat) You need to CYA.Shorty82 wrote:I've seen that more than once. As someone who used to proudly wear a button that said, "I'd hate lawyers too, if only I weren't one," no offense taken! :)Cranbiz wrote:That would be a normal precaution for the medics to take in that type of accident. In today's litigious society (No offense Wombat) You need to CYA.

Perhaps you should have a t-shirt that reads, "Actually, I'm a baritone..." on the front and "The lawyer thing is just to pay the bills." on the back?BRWombat wrote:As someone who used to proudly wear a button that said, "I'd hate lawyers too, if only I weren't one," no offense taken! :)

You know what they need? ECVs with the steering controls on the *back* for someone walking *behind* it to control... For folks who rent an ECV for grandma (who can't drive a car to save her life) and they don't want to go through the effort of pushing around a wheelchair, then someone from the group can walk behind the thing, control it and drive it.
(Though at that point, where does it end? Powered strollers? We know people have trouble controlling a regular stroller... Hmmm, maybe my idea isn't so great after all)
Actually, another of my ideas is to incorporate a radio-controlled speed governor on rental ECVs. So that when you have the mass crowds exiting down Main Street, a computer sends out a signal to all ECVs in the viscinity of Main Street to go a max speed equal to the snails-pace crowd flow. I'm sure that would reduce at least *some* of the collisions.
You could also install very-short-range transmitters in queues, theaters or other confined areas where limited speed on the ECVs would be preferable.
