SG: "What is Goofy?"

Post by Disneyguy85 » Sat Apr 10, 2010 12:22 am

So tonight, I was out in the park with my sister, and as we were walking through a store, we hear this kid passing by saying; "What is Goofy? Is he a mouse?..."

Wha???

Ok, even if someone didn't know that Goofy was originally called "Dippy Dawg" isn't it pretty obvious that he is supposed to be a dog judging by his floppy ears and long snout?

How could anyone thing that Goofy is a mouse??

That is so thick I don't even know where to begin!

Goofy a mouse?? Huh?? He must be an abnormal size mouse then...the only mouse in the park is Mickey and Minnie...how old was the kid?? I mean if he was like 12 or something he should know that Goofy is a dog....sigh kids these days.not exactly the same cartoons that I watched 10-15 years ago...

They aren't the only mice. There's also Cinderella's mice, Remy, and I think a few others occasionally.

Well, the kid was probably confused by the whole Pluto-is-a-dog-so-what-is-Goofy? controversy......I always just thought he was a Goof :o:
Maybe he's been watching New Moon and thinks Goofy is some sort of were-dog? And who is Max's mother, anyway? Goofy denies that it is Clarabelle the Cow.

Neither floppy ears or a long snout are characteristic of, or unique to, dogs.
I never thought it was fair that Pluto was owned, mute, and collared, while Goofy was a 'person'.

Ok, regardless of the floppy ears and long snout, Goofy does resemble dog. And if he were supposed to be a mouse, them he would have ears like Mickey and Minnie. ;)

I guess Goofy is more evolved than Pluto.

He is part man, part dog, which makes him a Mog!

Pluto isn't exactly silent. He barks and makes noise, and is really a lot smarter than most give him credit for.
