I'd heard the law requires retirees to move to Florida, but I always thought that was a joke! :D:

Thank you all so much for your help! We have a Realtor and a few homebuilders we are considering, but certain developments allow only certain builders. I don't know if we would qualify for the adult communities yet, as hubby is 43 and I am 53. Yes, we ARE retired very young, which I like because we can still do so many other things. Like work at WDW part time. :) We have compared California and Orlando area and we can get a lot more property/house for our money in Florida than we can in Orange County, definitely. The other HUGE consideration is health insurance. We have Kaiser Permanente right now and it is okay, not the greatest, but it works. Hubby has it free for life and they do have Kaiser in California, but not in Florida. The money we save on buying property in Florida instead of California can go towards a good health plan for him! I have been madly searching for a decent HMO or Health insurance in Florida that is similar, but not have found anything as of yet. Any recommendations on health insurance providers? I have heard that the hospital at Celebration is phenomenal! State of the Art and an absolutely excellent facility. They are building a huge research hospital at Lake Nona as well.
I know many of the "adult" communities would require a much higher age limit as well.
We are going to make a trip to look around and check out the different communities. Our Realtor was suggesting Lake Mary, but that is too far north of the city for me. I want a closer proximity, maybe even Kissimmee. I have heard that is a nice community.
Celebration's rules sound like ours. You have to have an "acceptable" color of shades in the window here as well. We solved that by just putting in Plantation shutters, but I will NOT do that again. The dusting is endless, but then with the humidity it may not be as dusty! It is a daily process to dust here!
The Artisan project sounded very nice, I will check that out. And there was one other development we were considering, I think the name was Reunion.
You are all so helpful! I wish the house here would sell, then we could make the move. I really am not healthy here and health is everything!
Anyone want to move to Denver or know someone who does, the house is for sale. Check it out at .www.ranchreservelane.com
We are hoping to make that trip soon to The World and meet up with our Realtor for a few days of touring the area and looking at lots and talking to builders. I cannot wait! I will be looking forward to meeting some of you who work at The World while we are there. Not sure exactly when, maybe Fall or as late as next Spring. :( Depends on many different factors in our lives...
Thanks again for all your help and I will check out the Celebration website again, it has been about 6 months since I looked at it.
Enjoy the day!
