I bet Andy Warhol is spinning in his grave over how people have taken his statement, "Everybody's famous for 15 minutes" to such a degree it's like it's a gospel to them--"You shall make yourself famous for 15 minutes". Kind of like those bad translations....

That kind of statement never fails to make me chuckle. Wouldn't you make a mental note not to ride a bicycle at Disney? No one on the bus was killed were they?Honda Enoch wrote:*making mental note. Do not ride Disney transportation on next trip.*
It was like on 911...how many times did you hear that people were not going to fly in a plane anymore? I don't remember the exact numbers but I think that it was about 150 people that were killed in airplanes that day and around 2000 that were killed because they went to work. Wouldn't logically one say...damn I'm not going to work anymore, it's dangerous.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...We are a strange species!

Do you know the vast majority of people die in bed? Yet you're not afraid to go to bed at night, are you? Seriously, when I was a kid, dad used to buy these paperback editions of Ripley's Believe It Or Not!, and in one, somewhere in Europe, there's a monument to a bed. Reason? It's where most of us are born, most of us die, and where we spend one-third of our lives.

Don't go to work. I'll go indoor skydiving instead, now that my weight is low enough that I can. :D:Goofyernmost wrote:...it was about 150 people that were killed in airplanes that day and around 2000 that were killed because they went to work. My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

As one comic put it, "I read that most accidents happen within 25 miles of home. So I moved." :D:felinefan wrote:Do you know the vast majority of people die in bed? Or it can morph into a nickname like mine. Shorty is my nickname and has been since I was a kid exactly because I'm anything but short (as anybody who has met me can attest to). I see it like how in some movies there is this trucker nicknamed "Tiny" and when he steps out of his truck he is actually this huge dude.delsdad wrote:Perhaps your handle needs to evolve into Medium Wallaby ? Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
