When I was in ODV, I NEVER wore a Lanyard. Now that I am in Innoventions, its required. I only ever wear a children's lanyard, though.

I'm sure that breaks the hearts of the pin Nazis. :twisted:judgedom wrote:When I was in ODV, I NEVER wore a Lanyard. Now that I am in Innoventions, its required. I only ever wear a children's lanyard, though.

Re: Pin Traders
It truly does since they tend to put the good pins on the kid's lanyards...but the TRUE pin nazis will have a kid with them :) hehedarph nader wrote:I'm sure that breaks the hearts of the pin Nazis.
I wore pin lanyards when I was a relief (in ODV) even though I knew that i was working a pretzel/churro/popcorn cart hehe.

Re: Pin Traders
Not always. The regular lanyards get good pins too. However, it means the adults can take them that much faster (whereas with a kids' lanyard, the kids are usually trading for pins that they like, which aren't always Hidden Mickey/CM only pins).wicked wrote:It truly does since they tend to put the good pins on the kid's lanyards...but the TRUE pin nazis will have a kid with them :) hehe

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Re: Pin Traders
Granted I've only done this casually and only on one trip, but I never saw a marked shortage of what I was looking for on the adult lanyards. Namely the hidden Mickey series of Figments. I love Figment.
I made my first trade with a cashier at the check out in the Pop Century gift shop. It was kind of awkward, because I picked up a trader, and paid for it at her register and then immediately, stammered out a nervous request to trade it for the Figment on her lanyard, somehow feeling badly that she'd be forced to accept the trade even if she liked that pin the best of all the ones she had. She didn't know who Figment was tho, so I felt less bad trading for it after that. You gotta know who Figment is to really appreciate the gag in those pins.
I'll probably continue pin trading, but only with CMs and only for Hidden Micky Figments, or Figments they don't sell anymore, and I'll never wear a lanyard. I own one but I'd never wear it. I'm a skeered of the Pin Nazis.

Re: Pin Traders
I don't pin trade so I don't have much to worry about pin Nazis right now. Also, I only have a few pins that I really like that I wear on my lovely SGT hat, no lanyard for my pins. :p:

Not to worry Mayo. This is done all the time. We are used to it & love to see you happy with your pins. Well, I am. Never ever wear a lanyard but will find one for polite children & all MAW children.Mayonnaise wrote: I made my first trade with a cashier at the check out in the Pop Century gift shop. Re: Pin Traders
I don't know if I would be a pin trader, if I lived within easy visiting distance of one of the Disney properties. Love the idea, but since they probably don't have pins featuring one of my favorite characters, Gladstone Gander, well.... :)
