Goofy, Honda, I'd just like to point out, that while my original post still stands, it should not be taken as support for the two of you to decide you know what others should do with their mourning. Yes. I, personally, will continue to do Christmas, but if I chose not to for a year or two, you would have no right to say that was wrong.

My only objection is the pervasive attitudes I'm seeing lately from some folk who seem to think that Cast Members are fundamentally different from other people on a base human level, such that no other life experience could allow one any insight into what it's like, but anyone in a service based industry can understand what it's like to have to deal with really messed up customers, day in and day out, and anyone with a true dedication to any sort of performance art can understand the idea of trying to make magic for their audience.

Every individual human's experience of life is unique. No one can ever know exactly what another is going thru, but to deny others the truth of their empathy and sympathy because they do not share your line of work, is just kinda crap.

I don't normally post in threads like this for a reason, but felt that I needed to in this case because I see a lot of arguing that seems to come from a simple misunderstanding and thought I might be able to clear that up.

It's true, you don't need to be a CM to understand the feelings of loss when someone close to you dies, I don't think anyone is saying that you do. It seems to me that they are saying that you need to be a CM to understand their feelings for the color choice which is directly related to the loss.

I hope this clears up the misunderstanding and the arguing can stop.

I need to get this off my chest.. and please dont take offense to this...

With that being said i am going to ask that the mods lock this post from being commented on any further.. I did not start this thread to out any one group of people.. or to start a civil war on here...

I know that some of you say that the healing mst start sometime, but the wounds of that night still haunt me. I am a first responder that has seen way to many dead bodies and have learned over the years to repress the "ghosts" that haunt from your interactions with the dead, dismembered, injured, and the dying. As a first responder you begin to heal because you have comrads that you work with that have been their.. but you never fully heal.

On July 4th 2009 I became a diffrent person, just as BW has become, and it is not for the better i asure you. I have had salt, lemmon juice, and acid scrubbed into this wound and has cause me problems at work.. and for those of you who know whats going on i do ask that you keep it to your self.

I am no longer in the traspertation dept. either by design or by fate to get away from the idiots that seem to think that its ok to dace on the graves of the fallen. I came here to share with you my friends funy stories of the idiots that area around us either CM or Guest, but over the last few moths have seen a what i can only discribe as Board X behavior and this saddens me to no end.

I want everyone to know that I care deeply for you all, and as MAPO has said.. you do have to be a CM to understand what we have gone threw.. its not because it happened at Disney its not because it happened on the Monorail.. its because we where their for it.. I sat in a locked room, seperated from my wife who was a non-clocked in employee that witnessed the accident in person and saw the carnage live, we where held their to keep us from the eyes, ears, and mouths of those who where not their... for they will never truely understand what we went threw that night.

I never said that I am deciding what others should do for mourning. But there is a time when public mourning needs to stop. A person can mourn inside the rest of their life.

To set the record straight Honda... What we are in is not mourning stage.. that ended the day that we made the ribbons and started to ware them.... we are in whats known as a recovery.

BW can attest to that fact that everytime, to this day, that a squeal came across the radio, a have a twitch come across me... its a pain full memory for me. You know that noise you can hear in the video from that tragic night, well try hearing that multiple times a day, tied in with all the snarky and down right disgusting things people say.

I dont know about you, but everytime i hear that squeal, either at work.. or when i acidently click on a video of that night, I am taken back to that night... where i was closing that MK platform center, all my fellow cast members where on the resort load side. This harsh noise comes across the radio and all you can do is make a stupid comment about some idiot that is keying up his mic near another radio.. then it dawns on you that the noise is not going away...

You then get a call from a frightened co worker from the TTC who informs you to quietly tell the ones at the MK that something tragic happened and someone may have died...

Then, a team of managers come up from the MK Ops area to "help" inform our cast of whats going on... and all the while they are doing this... they are doing across the platform from you... not telling you what is going on... because you are not allowed to leave your position... and one by one.. you are left alone, consoling a driver that bumped into a train to relieve someone who witnessed the incident. all the while keeping up the strong shoulder, knowing deep down that this is going to haunt you.

Like I said earlier... When we where allowed to close our stations and ride back to the ttc via ground transport.. i was locked away with 15 other co workers from various stations, told not to discuss anything untill we have been debrieffed... being held for 6 hours knowing damn well your wife who is waiting for you feet away in your break room.. who had seen what happened and fearing that it was you.... and then once we had been allowed to leave.. the following days, and months.. your fellow co-workers that work the opposit shift then you... saying that it was your fault ( as in the night crew ) that all of this happened....

so after reading all of this.. can you damn well say to yourself or even publicly say .... oh well.. its just a color.... can you tell me to my face that I have had enough time to grieve....

I got to shake his hand when we were down last year. BW opened up what I will refer to as the VIP side of the Monorail where he introduced me to the Doc. We had enough time to shake hands before I was zipped away.

I briefly remember that encounter... but thats what happens when suck in as much exhaust from the monorails as I have....

I too want to meet as many as i can on here...

but i hope that no one is taking my comments as i need a pity party.. i just want everyone to know where my reference point is for this thread.... The sheer amount of weight that is placed on a first responders shoulders can be overwhelming to them... hence Fire and police officers have the highest suicide of all professions.

I for one have healed from that night... and now that i am away from the rails.... i can now get on with my life and continue to heal...
