Counterfeit Fast Passes????????

I was on one of the fan boards this morning and someone posted that while in the FP line at SM at DL they overheard the CM tell the people behind them their FP was counterfeit. They also said the CM let them go on in the FP line and just told them they were fakes. Another person said they knew someone who used a leaf for a FP on Indy.

1. Is there a problem with people creating counterfeit fast passes?

2. what are you supposed to do (policy) when you come accross one?

3. As far as the leaf goes, how are CM's when it comes to stuff like this? Do you need to find one that has a sense of humor and hasnt had to many SG's that day to pull something like this? Can I print my own FP that says I'm not an SG and this is my magical FP? Maybe something funny and creative that will give the CM's a laugh? Basicly how much le-way do CM's working the FP line have as far as letting people in? Will slipping them a fiver do it?

And no I am not going to start counterfeiting fast passes, just curious and a bit of a joker.

I dont know why this thread showed up 4 times, this site is acting a bit wierd for me today. If a mod can delete the other 3 and just leave this one please.

Really, a leaf?? That is unheard of!! People will do about ANYTHINg so that they don't have to wait in a line. A Fast Pass is not that easy to counterfeit, but a re - admissions ticket is. All you have to do is photocopy a re - add and fill it in with a random initial and number. Nowadays, a CM is more skeptical an strict. The would confiscate it and turn the holders away. Now they have a new system with NSAs and harder to copy.

I remember I had to deal with a blank Re - add, but the guests showed me a business card of someone from TDA, I guess, so I had to let them in.

This has been discussed before and in summary here is what i have learned at SG.

CMs are to treat all fake and old fastpasses alike. They are to deny the guest entry and to instruct them where to get a real pass and/or to get to the end of the line. It depends on the attraction/show and other factors.

If the guest insists their GAC or fake fastpass then call a lead and let them get yelled at. Some CMs will let someone in at 10:11 when the pass ends at 10:10 but it is grounds for punishment or even firing if a CM allows guest to use fake or dead fastpasses or GACs as well as allowing more people than allowed on a GAC.

There are lots of stories out there and some are 15th handed. I read at a VMK how some CMs were living in the underwater caves at the DL submarine ride. The same idiot also said that someone stole a prop from the ride and was caught outside the park tossing the heavy item. Stories abound and some are now urban legends.

Also people make up stories like how a CM, bank teller, nurse, teacher, law clerk, pastor, stewardess, waitress, etc allowed a person to do something. The last waitress allowed me to have double french fries for the price of a single. The other pastor did allowed us to use cell phones in church. The other nurse gave me free swabs, bandages, medicine and other neat stuff.

The list is long on stories and short on fact. Sometimes a CM will miss a fake or dead fastpass or GAC but that does not mean the CM on purpose allowed that person to enter.

I've had the understanding that at least at DL they will allow you to use a Fastpass as long as its after the start time even if its past the end time, I've heard at WDW they wont allow this. True or false? I usually get there in my alloted timesframe and use my FP's as intended.

Are there people really counterfeiting fastpasses? it really seems like quite a bit of work.

I have never seen fake FPs. They are a thick paper and relatively hard to duplicate. I have seen lots of fake re-ads as well as ones that are 5-6 years old and guests still try to use them. I am pretty strict about FPs but its basically an unwritten rule to let 1 person in without a FP per group. Sometimes guests start bitching when you enforce the rules and honestly its easier to let it slide then deal with calling a lead, possibly management. I have been screwed over by management a few times where guests were blatantly out of line, trying to cheat the system and generally making an ass of themselves and I got in trouble.

The GAC cards are out of hand. It seems every other wheelchair is fakers and people try to bring in groups of 10-12 people on 1 GAC. I had 18 come up to me at unload the other day.

The rule is that CMs are not to allow anyone through with an outdate or fake fastpass or GAC. DanC pointed the problem with telling a guest no. It is a judgement call of the CM on whether they want to waste the day fighting with a guest and annoying their lead or letting someone ride and have a quiet day.

Funniest fake FastPass moment I ever had was when somebody tried to use a fake Tower of Terror FastPass to get on the WDW Railroad on a day when the only wait was for the next train to arrive.

"No problem, sir" said I, pocketing his FastPass. "Go sit on that bench in the shade and I'll call you over when your train gets here."
