Let's see; I got a house, and am fashioning it into a home.
Hope that all your health issues resolve quickly and without further incident. Congrats to your daughter on the horse show!

Best news is, I got my six-month test to follow up on last June's cancer surgery and the result was "undetectable", which is exactly what I'd been hoping for. Looks like I'm now cancer-free!

At Disney I'm still waiting for Guest Relations to open auditions again. I have my sights set on plaid.

It has been *way* too cold for *way* too long here. SWMBO asks, "Where the bleep has Florida gone?!?" Today it was finally pretty nice. Had a late lunch at Sanaa and blew the rest of the day watching the animals on the savanna.

Hosted a five-course wine dinner last month for a dozen friends. I had to. SWMBO and I had won a double magnum of Chateau Ste. Michelle 2005 Meritage at a raffle, and there's no way we could drink a 3 liter bottle of wine before it went bad. We needed help. The Wave's staff was a *big* help! Waygu beef short ribs, lobster mashed potatoes, prosciutto-wrapped yellowfin tuna, etc. etc.

By the fourth course, our friends declared we had to organize another. I'm thinking of an "Easter Feast" where the menu includes bunny, chicks, and eggs. Maybe ducklings, too. Any locals want to join, PM me.

The day job running the non-profit historical society slogs slowly along, but at least we found a marketing expert to help us. Now, if we can only find a fund raising expert to follow her lead....

Take care with that infection, Feb. Those can be nasty, especially when they have a big head start on the meds.

That's awsome news!!! :)

I'd love to go, but I don't know how I'd get there (I don't have a car).

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Reminds me of a Napa Valley wine tour. On one winery tour the guide was asked what quantity was appropriate for dinner. He replied, "If you're dining alone a split is good. A half liter should suffice for you and a date. If it's you and your old lady, get a gallon jug.

Did you know that anywhere other than the Napa Valley, wine country tours are known as drunk driving?

Hi Bru. My younger sister, who was supposed to be managing the money mom left me, embezzled half my inheritance and cut me off. Not only that, the little rhymes-with-witch has badmouthed me to my whole family, and they won't have anything to do with me. My landlady paid my February rent, but because she and her husband don't own the house, the owner said I had to leave. So I'm staying with friends until Apr. 8th; where I go from there I don't know. My dad died at the beginning of this month and is being buried at a military cemetery in Riverside--he was an Army vet. My youngest sister emailed me with the news, and capped it saying if I wanted to go, I had to find my own way there. I don't need to be around toxic people like that, so I'm not going. Just got on food stamps, wish I had a list of permitted foods and exactly when this thing actually kicks in--I don't know whether it's regular (two weeks after applying) or expedited (three days after applying). I know fresh and canned food is permitted, pet food isn't, as are prepared foods and stuff like if you go to 7-11 and buy like a burrito and heat it in their microwave. My hosts are encouraging me in my search for a job. I've applied to a lot of places already. Where is this alleged recovery especially in retail that everyone's talking about? Sounds like it hasn't reached here. Pray for me. And take good care of yourself, Bru.

Just a quick fly-by here as I'm still pretty whacked out (what else is new, I know) have upped the antibiotic dosage and it seems to be doing more good. Tonight I actually got to eat something that was not broth based.

It's so good to hear what everyone has been up to and see all the familiar faces (or usernames as the case may be) Glad to hear that everybody's health seems to be looking up (wonderful news, Zazu and Notatourist!!!) and Felinefan I am sorry to hear about your father and your continued struggles- I will keep you in my thoughts.

My own dad has still been refusing to go back to the doctors for a real check up despite the removal of some 'pre cancerous' spots from his skin- twice and looking like will need a third time. :( You just can't get the man to hear reason but he's always done things his way and will until the day he moves on from this life.

Hobie, your wife really has a talent that jewelry is gorgeous...

Okay wonderful people please keep on checking in here and I'll be back to reply more properly when i'm more coherent (no comments from the peanut gallery please)...I'm really trying to get better don't want Darph to have to get out that cooler though I'll admit that even though I don't drink when I got home the other day and St. March asked if I wanted anything the first thing I only half-jokingly said was "A bottle of Jack." Given the reaction I had to the pain meds that probably couldn't have done much worse!

hugs all round,
bru

Okay, I know you said no comments, but... if you've come to believe that being coherent is required before posting here, you have been away way too long!!!! :D:
