There's one left? I thought they had all but one or two had been stripped down and disposed of. The other one or two were sent over to Castaway Cay but has since disappeared I understand.Big Wallaby wrote:The scary thing is that I know where to find one. What, pray tell, is wrong with a Monorail ride?

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Huh. That'd be a cool way to the MK from the TTC.

Nah... I heard on Board X that NASA bought them and were turning them into our next gen space shuttles.... :PShorty82 wrote:There's one left? But for real, I remember reading one was going to the Smithsonian, where it rightly belongs. That ride created a lot of memories for people for many generations. I am sure they won't completely dismantle all the subs since old pieces of rides have turned up as theming elsewhere.

There's not, despite how many guests have assured me that there is.Big Wallaby wrote:The scary thing is that I know where to find one. So, let's meet up tomorrow night at Epcot, and you guys help me carry it out to TTC. I don't know if there is any water access from World Showcase to Seven Seas...
Sorry. That sub is on the wrong side of the water bridge. You'll never get through the tunnel with one of those strapped on top.... so we'll throw the sub on the top of a bus, drive it over to TTC....
Strap it to the side instead!

Or actually, if we take 2743, cut the cabin to the floor, that would take care of three problems: 1) We could get the sub onto the bus's new roof and have room to spare, 2) We would remove 2743 from passenger service forever, and 3) We would get all the roaches off 2743. It's a win/win/win situation!Zazu wrote:Strap it to the side instead!

Gee I think the monorail ride is fun! Course I did a SGT myself last week.... had to get to AS music from the contemporary and figured we could grab a bus at TTC...so we monorailed to ttc, was told we had to go to a park to get resort busses, monorailed over to MK and when we arrived there my son pointed out the walkway from contemporary to MK and said "we could have just walked here" Oh well...live & learn...1st time on property so I guess I'm allowed one SGT.
I did however try to save the drivers getting dumb questions when I overheard newbies announcing to their party that the monorail services all the WDW parks. Most were thankful but one dude got annoyed....I don't think he liked being corrected.

So the bus would be sort of like an out-rigger for the sub then, eh ?Zazu wrote:Sorry. That sub is on the wrong side of the water bridge. You'll never get through the tunnel with one of those strapped on top.

There would have to be an out-rigger involved. We laid off all the in-riggers who could do this type of job.leftcoaster wrote:So the bus would be sort of like an out-rigger for the sub then, eh?

The other problem with having it on the side is that we would ruin all the beautiful flex sticks under the water bridge... but I guess that's water... how do you use that expression in this case, where when the water is under the bridge it's acutally a bad thing?

Water over the bridge? Water under the dam? The Backside of Water mooning the tourons?Big Wallaby wrote:... I guess that's water... how do you use that expression in this case, where when the water is under the bridge it's actually a bad thing?
