Add my congratulation along with everyone else's! Perhaps, one day, I will get to ride on the WDW monorail with you in the pilot's seat. Here is hoping that you never have to call in a Signal 96-S! :)

I don't (yet) have Signal 96 (or 96-S) in the acronym and abbreviations list. Anyone care to share so I can update the list and the rest of us get that joke?

As I understand it, it indeed is a bad movie reference. A Signal 96-S refers to, of all things....Snakes on a Monorail. *forehead*

I'm sure someone will be along to confirm for sure, but that seems to be the consensus.

For WDW? Sorry, I haven't been around here for a while.

If so, keep Monorail Blue AWAY from me. Getting tired of the damn thing stalking me.

I've heard that too, so consider it sort of confirmed. Don't know if the real monorail drivers will actually confirm it or not.

Actually, Signal 96-S predates Snakes On A Plane by several years. It comes from an article that had been posted into Disney newsgroups and other such bulletin boards since at least 1991, under the title "Talking On The Radio", and is attributed to one John Robert Kappeler.

I know 96, I know 96E, I and F...

With the way they are created, I can imagine that S is Snake.

I like snakes...
