A Capella Christmas

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

A Capella Christmas

Post by Zazu » Wed Nov 25, 2009 12:16 am

I'm going to violate my own rule about no Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving because what I found is so good I thought I'd share it for the coming weekend. If your family is like mine, you may be in great need of a laugh or two.

"Straight No Chaser" is an a capella dectet with a major attitude problem of the sort I think SGTers will enjoy.

You can dig for videos of "The Christmas Can Can" and a few others, but do listen to their unique take on "The 12 Days of Christmas" as well.

Enjoy! :tree:

I had a friend find and show me "The Christmas Can Can" a couple weeks ago, it was awesome, but I have one problem with it the line "spike the eggnog." How can you have eggnog without alcohol, that just doesn't make any sense?

I LOVE Straight No Chaser, they also do a pretty bang up job on Toto's "Africa" as well, which also happens to be featured in the their take on the 12 Days of Christmas.

Just a heads up folks, Straight No Chaser is going on tour. I checked the dates to see if they will be appearing near me, and the answer is no. BUT, they are doing a performance in Orlando on May 1st. And a performance in Anaheim on May 13th.
