Pixar's 10th Full Length Animated Feature, UP, made history today and joined Beauty and the Beast as only the second animated film to ever receive a nomination for an Oscar in the Best Picture category!
Up was nominated for 5 Oscars total, also receiving nods for Original Screenplay, Original Score, Sound Editing, and one for Best Animated Feature - where it will compete against Disney's The Princess and the Frog!
Not too bad, for an octogenarian balloon salesman. ;)

I was thrilled that UP was nominated for both the animation best picture and the regular best picture Oscar. It was also great that they got a original screenplay nod too.
I think UP will win one of the best picture Oscars, but not both. (Although it would be AWESOME if that happened!)
