At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I'm going to have to get that album now.
Am I showing my age calling it an album?

I worked with a lady named Heidi. I'd always greet her with a hearty, "Heidi hi!" If I was feeling musical it was, "Heidi Heidi Heidi hi. Hoddy hoddy hoddy ho."

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

I'm on a writer's forum, and some time ago, one of our Australian members was saying that mall Santas were told to stop saying Ho, ho, ho, and to say Ha, ha, ha instead, because "they" were afraid women might take offense at the former. But it was pointed out to "them" that HA-Ha-Ha would make it look like Santa was laughing at people, instead of with them. Anyway, this Aussie member asks what's so offensive about Ho-Ho-Ho? I informed her, as delicately as possible, that in America, a "ho" is slang for a prostitute or a woman with loose morals. Got the TMI response. Gotta remember, English isn't the same in other countries.
I spent six months in Australia when I was 9, and I can tell you, we had to get used to speaking Australian English. Mom was such a dunderhead that she'd send us to the store for something, because she couldn't be understood by the Aussie store clerks. She's ask for a half of something, and they'd reply, "What's a half?" Before decimalization, it wasn't a halfpenny that was the smallest Australian coin (in value--in size it was actually larger), it was the ha'penny (pronounced hey-penny).
