No names the same?
I've heard no two Castmembers can use the same name at the same time at Disneyland. I've seen a few posts about nametags also and funny names. Is this true? I've heard if someone with the same name is already working you have to use another name (tag) that shift.

No, another urban legend. This would be impossible to implement! Sometimes there have been 3 of us with the same name & name tag @ the Emporium, not often, but during peak times. In my case managers & leads realize which _____CM screwed up.svickersart wrote:I've heard no two Castmembers can use the same name at the same time at Disneyland. Is this true? Steve

That limits the total employees who can work each day to 3 people. I cannot believe anyone would believe that. Sorry but Bruce is working if the fire department so all Bruces must go home and report back in 8 hours.
I love urban myths as they are worth a barrel of laughs.

That's funny, I haven't heard about that before. One time we had two Bobs on the same attraction: Astro Orbitor.
I heard that they won't hire you if your name is like "Mickey" or something.

I had a feeling this was an urban legend, thanks for clearing it up. As far as people going home, the legend goes if you get to work and your name is Bob and another bob is working they give you a different name for the day. I have seen posts about funny name tags and CM's saying they have used several different names I.E. Robert, Bob, Rob, Robby, that sort of thing.
Thanks
Steve

Re: No names the same?
In all my years working for Disney, I never met anyone with the same name like mine, except for one that opened Buzz, Space, and now Nemo. He not only have the same name as me, but hired in the same year, and oddly know, came from the same city as me.

Re: No names the same?
This is the policy that they have at WDW Central Reservations, where each CM is "assigned" a name if theirs is already in use by someone. This way, for example, there would only be one "Mike" on at a particular time and so if a person called and asked to speak to a supervisor they would be able to quickly determine who the call was about. And I have some friends who work at CRO/WDTC and they have told me this.

Re: No names the same?
I think,(no,I didn't hurt myself),that having the same name would 'kinda' cool. Have 2 or 3 Cujos working ODVs. Anytime one gets a complaint, they could just say "That was my 'evil' twin brother". :D:
