Dealing With SG Parents
How does one deal with SG Parents??? SG parents that are pissed off that their favorite rides are closed and they can't see and take pictures with their favorite characters because the characters are done for the night and have to get ready for the parade. They claim that "Disneyland sucks!!!" and "That's unfair!!", and "Happiest Place On Earth my butt!!!!"
What are ways to calm down pissed off SG parents and keep them happy and understand the situation.

I doubt there's anyway to make them truly happy. Just shake your head and 'hope' their kids don't grow up the same way.
Re: Dealing With SG Parents
Yea, there really isn't any way to deal with that type of childish, selfish, rude behavior. Just be happy that we aren't that way. Smile and shake your head. Chuck...

Re: Dealing With SG Parents
It's the sense of entitlement that get me going on them.
What makes your time more valuable that someone elses time? Why are you more special that another?
How to deal with them, How about a big rock? Use it to rock them to sleep, or to hide them under.

Re: Dealing With SG Parents
The stunt that SG parents pull the most is the "You made my daughter cry!"
after screaming about how they have a right to use this or that
attraction or service after closing.
Yeah. And your oscar winning ranting and raving had nothing to do with it.
That kid is going to buy a shrink a new yacht in about 10 years.

If you ever stop and ask yourself: "How do they dress themselves?"
Congratulations and welcome to my world.

Re: Dealing With SG Parents
Last thursday I watched a mother repeatedly slap her teenage daughter in POC line. It wasn't a full on open hand more of a 4 fingers on the chin cheek...meant to to humiliate more than injure. I was stunned.
This overbearing woman kept talking about how she would "finish it". The daughter , who looked to be either a bit slow or just so defeated she had checked out... started to cry and the father who was certainly henpecked tried to comfort her... the mother started in on the father.. belittling him. They were about 15 people in front of us...it was awful.
My husband suggested that I tell a CM... But I really had no idea what could be done.
Then an hour later I saw family...3 boys I'm guessing 11,8,6 mom and dad in rows 1 & 2 for space Mountain. About to get on... They must have misunderstood the rows and 11 should have been row 3. When 11 found out he'd have to ride alone he began to cry. I felt so bad for him. He was hysterical. The mom and dad tried to immaculate him into riding ... 6 & 8 were ok... Finally they allowed him not to ride.. But you could tell it wasn't ok with them.
I guess it's good they did not make him ride.. poor thing. Ya kinda knew he was gonna hear it for the rest of the day.
These poor kids.

Re: Dealing With SG Parents
We had a similar experience when leaving MK. There was a family behind us in line for the bus (Mother, Father, and a son about 6-7). The father was DRAGGING the kid by the wrist through the bus line. When they got up behind us, the father finally released the kid who then sat on the railing (yes, you're not supposed to do that) so the father reached out and yanked the kid down by the leg. Then, when his son was standing next to him and had said something (I couldn't hear what) he KICKED his son in the legs. The kid went and hid behind his mother, who the father berated for "babying" the kid. The father then proceeded to reach up to one of the hanging planters in the bus loading dock, remove one of the flowering plants, and place it in his bag. (No idea why, but real respectful of Disney property).
He was also using profanity regularly regarding how "slow" the buses were.

Re: Dealing With SG Parents
I have not been a parent very long... But I cannot imagine my daughter doing anything that would make it ok for me to hit, kick or humiliate her.
These people are sick.

Re: Dealing With SG Parents
June, you don't have to be a parent very long to know right from wrong. Those parents and (unfortunately) many others are evil with no right to have children. Like you say, no excuse at all to treat your kids (or anyone else) like that. Chuck...
