Hybrid Bus?
I just saw that they're currently testing a hybrid bus at WDW: http://www.mousesteps.com/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=65
Any of our local transportation experts know anything about this bus and the plans for it? I would guess with the rising price of oil, anything to save Gas (Diesel) would be welcomed.

Well, I am not a transportation expert yet by any means, but I do know they are testing it at Fort Wilderness (I saw inside it the other day!), and it is a very nice bus. It looks very similar to the other Gilligs we have (see Cranbiz's avatar) except it has projection beam headlights, and dark paint on the outside... oh, and comfortable motor coach-style seats on the inside. It will begin usage other places soon.EmptyCinema wrote:Any of our local transportation experts know anything about this bus and the plans for it? I know some major metro areas have played with hybrids before with little success. However, if anyone can make it successful, Disney can. It's right up their alley.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

If we could replace gas with stupidity, there would be no concerns about the middle east energy crisis! Then again, if stupidity were that flammable, the first spark would end the human race.

The torque alone would be enough...darph nader wrote:if they could make the buses run on stupid tricks

That is my website (I noticed you all coming from here). From what I understand, it should start testing tomorrow at Epcot, unless something has changed. Any buses bought (if they do buy them) won't be comfortable like this one. :)

Yup. I saw it today on it's way to Coronado Springs.nbodyhome wrote:That is my website (I noticed you all coming from here). From what I understand, it should start testing tomorrow at Epcot, unless something has changed.
I hope to get some shots of it half as good as some of yours.

It's not hard to shoot a sitting target with a camera. :) (or even a slow moving one!) But thanks! I wasn't sure anyone would even be interested in the photos, but I'm glad they were of interest to many.Big Wallaby wrote:Yup. I saw it today on it's way to Coronado Springs.

I really think it's a beautiful bus from the outside - even with all the logos and such. Very classy looking, IMHO.

I thought I was the only person in the world that ever put those two words together...but I agree in this case.
