Rehire Questions
Rehire Questions
Figured Id ask here since you guys seem to like disney more than a couple of the other places I am at. And one of you would more likely know too...
So, I was on the end of my probation with being a CM in attractions and got termed. I had 12 days to go. Believe me, I have been kicking my self about that for the past month now. So when they were letting me go, they said I would be on a restricted rehire status. Now does this mean that I will never be able to get back into attractions because of something that I did while I was 18 on my first job or will it just be really hard for me to get back into attractions? I think the managers liked me enough that if all I need is their approval, I can ask for it.
I love Disney. Always have. Kinda happens when your grandma has everything Mickey and you grow up with PAPs. I do consider my self to be a potential lifer if I cant get into my other profession that I would be willing to put all my life into.

Re: Rehire Questions
You didn't say what you got termed for but a good attitude makes up for a lot of other deficiencies. It sounds like you've got a chance at being rehired. I'd plead my case stressing the attitude aspects. If you can get your foot back in the door by taking a non-attraction job, you can prove yourself and ask for a transfer down the road.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Rehire Questions
I got a question!! I have a "no - rehire" status and I would love to come back. Anyone know what are things that would give you a "no - rehire" status. Anyway I can appeal my "no - rehire" and how long can I wait.

Re: Rehire Questions
F!Dan, there is no way in the world you should have a 'no - rehire status". This is just not you!! Thefts, ignoring many guest's safety issues, having 3 or more major write ups from manager(s), safety write ups from leads, lots of write ups from CMs who couldn't get along with you, high points, & so on will get a CM a "no - rehire status". As I stated, you don't fit into the above categories. I understand what happened in your case & firmly believe you can challange this unfair situation. Call & ask for an appointment to view your Pers File. Go over it very carefully. Do Not Overlook Anything!! I forgot who is in charge of Pers Files at TDA, but think the # is in my Day Planner. Be very positive & friendly with the CM who sits with you while you view your file. Do Not Discuss Problems With Him. He may even bring up a few suggestions on his own. Listen intently. After viewing your Pers file return to TDA front reception & ask for an appointment with Rehire. Rehire CM is a great guy & has been with DLR for at least 12 yrs. We are friends & always laugh together. I'll PM you his name & # when you get to this step. Gather your facts, strong points, what you now have to give DLR as a rehire CM, lessons you learned or realized after being termed - save this info - you may not need to use it, tell them you really want to return & why. Impress upon Rehire CM you will be a great CM & benefit DLR. There are more ideas & avenues others might post to you, this is just a thumbnail post back. I knew a very fine ODV CM who had a "no - hire." He returned in a yr. & was rehired within 5 minutes. He had counsel & union backing but didn't need to use either. You know how high the turn over rate is. I'll bet you might be rehired for the summer. Try it as 6 months has passed. Now would be a great time to Go For It. :) GOOD LUCK!!DLRFantasmic!Dan wrote:I have a "no - rehire" status and I would love to come back. Re: Rehire Questions
Well, I had a written for an OG violation and a guest concern. At least that is what I was given as the reason when I was termed. And I only had 4.5 points too... Heck, 3 of those were for being like 2 or 3 mins late. Basically all they told me was to get some job so that I can show the rehire people that I can hold a job for a while and get a good rep from them. But they did say that the written would make the rehire into attractions very difficult.
So for now, I am out in DTD. They asked me out there why I stayed on Disney property. Because I love the atmosphere. I loved it growing up and love making it for kids who will remember it the rest of their lives. So, it has been a really boring transitional period between being at the resort and waiting to start at my place in DTD. I hope that I do get back into attractions when I can reapply in November. But at least Ill be able to do my Marching Band with out scheduling conflicts this fall.
