They offered me a job in foods and in retail, both of which i polietly turned down, but I have an audition tomorrow afternoon for entertainment host, and on sunday for characters. It will be my second host audition, for the first I completly froze up, but I hope I am ready tomorrow :)
This will be my third character audition, for the first one I didnt get past the height cut, and the second one I got cut after the two first parts.
But through this whole proccess I am amazed at how NICE everybody who I talk to is, I like going to auditions just because they are fun people :) I just interviewed at Starbucks and they were not nearly as chill as Disney people.
IF these two auditions dont go great I am thinking about trying for guest relations in July when I turn 18. :D:

Yarrg, I just came across this thread tonight, since it got bumped (and I am glad it did).

I am a new Cast member since March. I have just a thought for you... get another couple jobs first. They will give you perspective when some old fart comes around telling you what a horrible place Disney is to work. With the last one, I finally had enough, and the next time he gets in on me, I am going to rip him a new one and strongly encourage him to hand in his resignation the next day (and please, tell the GSM to whom you hand your resignation where he can stuff it so he might put that in your file so they don't hire you again). That's about the worst thing I have to deal with here, is negative Cast members; thankfully it's not often.

But I would put in a couple years elsewhere. Mature a bit, see what working at places other than the Happiest Place on Earth is like before you come to Disney. This is going to sound harsh, but I am going to tell you what I would have told myself had I tried to apply at Disney 9 years ago: You're too young to truly appreciate it, just as I was not too terribly long ago. I would have listened to nutjobs like the one I mentioned above, and hated every second of it.

Also, if you enjoy going to the parks as a guest, wait. Once you work for Disney, you'll never just be a guest again. Enjoy it as just a guest while you can. Then, come in, get a position, and enjoy working where you've had so much enjoyment in your life.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Wallaby,

I think that I've got to slightly disagree with you.

Yes, now that I'm a CM I do look at the parks differently but when I'm in the parks as a guest, I'm still a guest (A slightly better educated guest but still a guest). I still expect to experience Disney magic and I still do. I may tend to notice more things that may be considered "Bad Show" but you know, I noticed them as a regular guest before. I just called it something different.

I don't give CM's a hard time and I'm understanding when they are in a tough situatuion. BUT I'm still a guest (I still have my Fl resident AP and use it just to justify all that money I spent 2 months prior to becomming a CM) and I expect to be treated as such (without the my being stupid part)

I do agree that you should experience employment life outside of Disney to really appreciate what happens there (both good and bad) and I second the "don't let disgruntled CM's get you down. It's not what they think, It's what you think. If you are happy with your job, then It's the right place for you, if you are not happy, you need to move on.
