I think that is BS that they don't approve time off for you guys. All of the CMs work so hard and take so much sh*t off of SGs you deserve to have a little time off every so often.
My supervisor recently tried that same crap with me. When I put in my time off request he said "I'm not sure that Mrs. Davis will approve this time off. You haven't been here a full year." I'm like what ever I've been accruing this time off since I started here. If you don't want me to take the time off then don't make it available to me. I told my husband to be prepared because if he doesn't approve my time off then I will be out of a job as soon as we come back from vacation. Mrs. Davis signed the paper and didn't even give it a second thought. Then my stupidvisor told me that he was going to disallow the time off if I was late or on time to work twice before I leave. (I have to be at work before 8am) so I sign in at 7:59am. :hysteria: Well I leave in like 4 days so if he tries to tell me that I can't have my time off then I will be without a job and they will be paying my unemployment.

I'm so glad Pupura got the time off! I have been there SO many times.
If you ever stop and ask yourself: "How do they dress themselves?"
Congratulations and welcome to my world.

I had a similar problem once (and only once). After having approved my time off five months in advance, they tried to deny it.crystal_crtr wrote:I think that is BS that they don't approve time off for you guys.
My supervisor recently tried that same crap with me.
I simply told them, "I will not be here the first week of July. You can handle this as approved time off, as a personal leave of absence, or as as a termination. Decide which you prefer and have the forms ready for me to sign tomorrow."
Whattaya know, the next day I had my approved time off!
Of course, it does help if you're good, reliable, and ask the right GSM....

Yup that's one way around the system. That's what I do too :)Natural Selection Fan wrote:I've learned to plan strategically around the scheduling BS. I sprout wings
and halo for a few months to drop points and when I get a pattern of two
regular days off going, book my flights and hotel a few weeks in advance.
Call in sick at the stroke of midnite for three consecutive days, have my
regular two days off call in sick day four after that. BINGO! Six days off
in a row. If I really want to walk the tightrope, stop off at one of those
quack redicare clinics and get a Dr's. note for a few more days if need be.
They usually have no problem writing one of those for you, though if
it's a clinic in Honolulu, it may not fly too well. :p:
