I was in Epcot as a guest, and overheard the SG say to another guest, while looking up at SSE...

"I just can't believe they tore down that beautiful castle and put up that stupid ball!"

I think I actually stopped dead as I was walking and stared at him, just to make sure he wasn't joking. Then I just shook my head and walked away.
No worse than my wife and I at KS at DAK. We were on the bus, and the husband behind me asked his wife if the animals are real.

Do these people do any research at all when they go on vacation ? *shakes head

Sorry, that one's my fault. You see, when people feed the ducks at MK, I make some comment about how amazing the animatronic ducks are. If it has a band on its leg, it's a duck that landed at Disney World, Critter Control captured it and replaced it's internal organs with animatronics.

Someday, when I die, if I discover I was all wrong and happen to reincarnate in the form of some animal, I've decided that I don't care if I am a tiger in Asia, I am going to somehow get my (then) furry butt over to Disney World. I think we're the home of the fattest ducks, deer, armadillo and squirrels in the world, with exception of one squirrel in Portland, OR. I have a picture of it around here somewhere... Here it is! Sorry, he's out of focus, but you still get the idea. This squirrel lives at the International Rose Test Garden.

Disneyland has the fattest bugs, rats, feral cats, and birds around. Seen an opposum at Knott's once.

Cute squirrel picture, thanks.

During our trip, one of the days we were in Epcot, while waiting for Off-Kilter, we saw a squirrel come out looking for food. I didn't see the character greeter though. ;) Apparently he likes french fries, but does not like popcorn, nor Rice Krispies bars. Go figure.

Oh, and I promise a trip report....soon! With pics! Or at least a link to pics.

Funniest thing I ever saw was on a meet at Kings Dominion for another Web Forum that I frequent. We were just inside the park, sitting down to get organized, figure out our plans for the day. All of the sudden, this big old grey squirrel runs out of one of the stores, carrying a bag of peanut M&Ms! We just laughed for about five minutes.

Oh great, Another picky eater.

Now we will have to educate the SG's on what to feed the squirrels, how much and where they like to dine. We will then have to have a handout about this that nobody will read, answer stupid questions about why the squirrels won't eat popcorn because the squirrels at MK do. Board X will now have a slew of new threads about feeding the squirrels and then complaints about CM's who don't know how to feed the squirrels, etc.

I am a "regular" in the UK pavillion, me and a bunch of other people hang out there to watch the British Invasion. Two of my friends are an older couple, Libby and Dean. Everyday, Dean brings a bag of peanuts to feed to "his" squirrel. It's so funny. It will run up to him, jump up on his foot or climb up his leg and take the peanut from him. It comes back again and again. We think it buries them somewhere in the hedge maze. When Dean and Libby aren't there, and someone else is sitting on their bench, the poor squirrel keeps going over there, looking for his peanuts, usually freaking out the people who are sitting there.

Yea, but WDW can capitalize on this! They can have several places around each park to sell squirrel food. Something like $2.00 for 6 peanuts. The SG's will kill for the opportunity to feed the squirrels. Can't you just picture it now? The kids will be BEGGING their mommies and daddies to buy food to feel the squirrels.

THEN...there will be threads on board X (and board Y, and board Z...) on how to sneak in your own squirrel food so that you don't have to pay the high Disney price. Because that poster went to Wal-mart down on 192, and bought a whole bag of squirrel food for like $8.00

THEN...there will be the inevitable thread on board X of how one of the Disney squirrels died because someone fed it the "wrong squirrel food." Apparently someone brought squirrel food from some other part of the country, which didn't agree with the Florida squirrel's digestive system. Some of the users of board X, who just so happen to be proud, card carrying members of PETA, will crucify the person that fed the squirrel the wrong food.

THEN...Disney will read the thread, and decide that the best way to keep the squirrels from dying (from the "wrong food") is to have anamatronic squirrels in all the parks. Guests won't be able to feed the squirrels (even if it's the "right food"), but at least the squirrels will be safe.

....
