I think we should get a pool going on how long the line will get and I am putting money on 225 minutes. Participants cannot be CM if they want into the pool. "We have to slow down so I can make the betting pool", lol.
Hummm, it depends on how you count. Assuming we don't count the time people stand in line outside the gates, guests will get in line for Nemo from the time the park opens (including EE). Nemo is not scheduled to open until 11:00am, so the first people in line will already have waited at least four hours. Of course that's just the people in the front. By 11:00am the line should be totally out of control. With the park closing at 11:00pm that means
at best 12,000 lucky riders will get to experience the attraction opening day. So if that many people show up just to ride nemo you could see a "full" line by 11am, leading to a twelve hour wait.
However for the official pool put me down for 6-Hours.

You know, its kind of varied. I was one of the first Id say 50 people on Xcelerator on opening day. I waited the ENTIRE day plus I got at the park around 8 AM. But I was one of the first people on it. But then again, at the time...Xcelerator was the worlds ONLY hydraulic launch rollercoaster ever built. EVER. So it was a first of a kind experience, and it was really amazing back then.
Then they built Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka and they both pooped on Xcelerator. :p:
But it depends on the ride. Disney wise, I was only one of the first on Tower of Terror @ DCA, Ive never really waited for any of the "new" rides. The subs will be the subs when I get there too. Not a big deal to wait. But if its something thats one of a kind? (Like X was, I was one of the first on X too--Season Passholder Preview=No Lines!) Yeah, Im totally down for waiting to be one of the first.
RIP Bud Hurlbut.
You will be missed.

I'm hoping word will get out to the areas if they need CM's to ride during
training like they did with Space and Buzz. That was cool.
I don't think a CM preview is in the cards for me because of the screwy times
so it may be the private holiday party before I can ever ride this thing.
Is it me, or is this whole thing like a practical joke? Consider that this was
mostly a result of petetions from fan sites demanding the subs be brought
back. And like anyone that makes a demand on Disney, you'll get what
you asked for with one horrible, perhaps diabolical twist: a mandatory 3-6
hour wait! OMG, this is GENIUS! lol.
I'll be making a special point to go home every night through TL and I'll
be lauging to myself every foot along the queue. If anyone stops me to whine, moan or bitch about the line, I'm gonna SMILE like I'm watching a tapdancing tapeworm and say : "You need to be careful what you wish for around here! You just might get it!"
Important? Only if the park is closed. LOL.
If you ever stop and ask yourself: "How do they dress themselves?"
Congratulations and welcome to my world.

I've heard CMs who work Grad Nites will be able to test Nemo after we close
@7 a.m. Last year we were able to go one Pirates after a few Grad Nites. Sure beat the first week of 5 hr. lines. I was in TL & heard lines were 5 hrs. from NOS manager. If no Grad Night tests - Nemo can wait for me. The subs were the best!

I read where people actually plan trips based on when a new attraction will open. :notallthe
Now, if I were a local, I might stand in line, but I would not take a day off from work.
On our trip we wanted to see Finding Nemo, the musical at AK. Unfortunately, the day we were at AK, it was closed. It's new enough that it will still be around when we come back. And no, I did NOT use "But we came 1000 miles just to see this show!" line. :p:
I've heard of others that changed their plans because something was closed (IE: came back to that park another day to see said closed attraction.). :notallthe

I could never really understand it. You pay all that money to go to the park, only to spend the entire day waiting for one ride. You like what ya like I guess.
I remember being at Disneyland on their 50th birthday and the line to get the special souvenirs. I took some pictures of the line just to see how many pictures it could span, and I think it took up eight or nine spots on the digicam. We went back there at about 7 PM with no line and were able to get a hold of most things.

I've unintentionally stumbled upon sneak previews...
During my trip to WDW back in Dec 98, we were among the first 100-150 to see Asia on its first day of Guest previews. Wasn't totally planned that way, but we'd gotten a tip from a Cast Member earlier in the week to come back around 1PM on whatever day it was. Wasn't a huge line, but there was a bit of a crowd. The Rapids ride was still a few months away from opening, but we got to see the walk-through animal exhibit.
And then the VERY un-planned one, I stumbled on the first day of Guest previews of Mission: Space. On the last day of my trip in June 03 I stopped by Epcot before heading to the airport. There was some activity in the courtyard outside the attraction. I overheard some Guests (who obviously knew either CMs or Imagineers) saying that it would open around 4PM. I'd been planning on leaving for the airport around then for my 7PM flight, but decided I could wait until 4:45 to see if they opened.
Sure enough, I wandered back past there just before 4, and a small crowd was forming. Then around 4:20 they opened up. I was within the first 100 people on the attraction, and I was able to make it to the airport in plenty of time for my flight. :)
