How many message board members does it take to change a lightbulb?

Post by DLRFantasmic!Dan » Wed May 09, 2007 12:08 am

I read this and thought this was funny!! :D:

How many message board members does it take to change a lightbulb?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

1 to move it to the Lighting section

2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5 to flame the spell checkers

3 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again

That is my favorite part of the whole list. I really appreciate it. :hysteria:

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

My question is that 185 posts or 185 separate posters, some of whom had multiple posts?

(Sorry, I am a retired CPA and can't help adding numbers.)

That is 185 seperate posters some of who triple posted or posted the same post on another section of the forum. I have seen the list and have been on both sides of what is on that list. I can tell you from experience that being a moderator is a pain in the butt and people seem to push buttons for the fun of it.

Mod: Do not push the button
Member: Bink
Mod: Stop it
Member: Bink
Mod: Now
Member: Bink Bink Bink Bink Bink Bink
Mod time outs member and later when they come back
Member: Mod was mean to me.
Mod: i told you not to push the button
Member: You is mean bink bink, ooh new button, boink boink, another and another, so many, pink pink ponk blank wank

I cannot tell you the end a not sure about statute of limitations, lol. I could never be a mod again as last time I got so mad at someone I changed their profile picture to a clown and another's fifth account to something weird.

Sounds like a forum that we're probably all way too familiar with. Seems like there is a new board every week.

So, how many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb?

One, and the rest of the world to revolve around me...

1 to exclaim, "You'll save money if you use fluorescent bulbs!"

1 to exclaim, "Fluorescent is old technology. Use LEDs!!"

Hey, let's watch the drummer jokes!!!
Image

What do you call someone that hangs around musicians?
Drummer.

Old drummers never die, they just beat it out of town.

I know a guy who was so dumb his teacher gave him two sticks and he became a drummer, but lost one and became a conductor.

A young man sailing the South Seas came upon a lovely island and decided to go ashore to explore. He was greeted by friendly locals who gave him the run of the island. While walking around, he noticed there was continual drumming. He asked one of the locals if it ever stopped. The local replied, "Very bad if drumming stops!"

The next day the drumming was still present so our sailor asked another local if the drumming would ever stop. The local replied, "Very bad if drumming stops!"

The drumming still hadn't stopped on the third day so our sailor asked another local if it would ever stop. The local replied, "Very bad if drumming stops!"

"What happens if the drumming stops?"

"Bass solo," the local replied.
