oh man that's horrible....i know if that happened to me or any of my co-workers we would've called security right away. Of course what they would've done after we called is another story for another thread....

ahhh that's just fantastic and ever so true. disney would make a lot more money if they would offer sleepingdorms next to the park for all those fat ,bolding lowlives that come very single day. rent includes a premium ap. talk about theme perks!
sad sad story but hey would rent out in a second.

Ok, I am clueless to the ins and outs of DLR, but I know that here in the real world, if someone threw an object at an employee, they would earn a pair of silver bracelets in the form of handcuffs. Why doesn't Disney sac up and get more aggressive with assault behavior?

It is totally unacceptable to throw an object, or even get verbally aggressive. The customer is most certainly NOT always right. I wish that woman got arrested and charged with attempted aggravated assault for her act. Eesh.

I WISH I would have been there as a guest, I would have thrown a stroller back at that freak in 'self defense'. What can they do to me, after all, if they don't do anything about freakish guest throwing things, what could they do to someone assisting a CM?

well, back in the good old days, disney security was tough and feared and not to be messed with. now-a-days it is a good job for retired people to earn some extra income (sorry to all you buff 25 year old security!).
now there are stiff rules about what they can do to interfear and how much of a "hands on job" it can be. the answer: zero! noone is allowed to touch anyone anymore.
it is about political correctness and about disney's ever so strong fear of lawsuites or the bad press that comes with that.
take shoplifting for example. situation was as followed: 3 out-of-breath ap's come up to me in city hall having a teenager in tow. they told me to call the police because they cought him shoplifting. well while i was on the phone, security came over taking over the case. turnes out, security policy is that they can observe the person stealing but the person has to attempt leaving property with the item before they can get involved and then they can only talk to them and hope they don't run for it. so the ap's took it upon themselfs to play the law (i solute you!) and in the end anaheim pd was called. unfortunatly the ap's ended up injuring a pregnent woman and putting a child in the hospital because they ran both of them over in their hot persute.
but ya, security can't do much about anything anymore even if they wanted to.

I would love to go into her place of employment and start throwing her things around screaming and yelling about something she had nothing to do with.

yeah but then you would start a food fight by throwing big macs around and complaining about the ketchup.

A few years back I had a similar incident with an annual passholder

One day when I was working at the Mountain I had a guest push me into the track because his party of 7 wouldn't fit into a train that was designed for 6. I placed them into the train and moved it far enough so their restraints were locked. I then hit the E-Stop and demanded that the Orange County Sheriff was called. I had the man arrested, and thrown into jail. I ended up getting a reprimand for E-Stopping the ride, but it was worth it in the end

Wow, this whole thread just makes me want to beat the crap out of something...mainly a jerkoff guest. Seriously, what makes them think that they can do this? As a matter of fact, I think they lose the their rights or something when they enter public property. (I'm not entirely sure, but I read a newspaper article on rowdy fans at baseball games and how they lose their rights once they step on the property, I'm not sure if this is the same for parks.) Seriously, if I saw a guest doing this to a CM, I would just follow them out to the parking lot and beat the holy shit out of them. I cannot stand people like this. I see them everyday, everywhere. Stores, themeparks, you name it, assholes are out there. But its when these assholes lash out at employees, it makes me sick and so angry I want to seriously beat the crap out of them. Theres some things called "respect" and "decency." People seriously need to start showing it... I'm sorry you guys have to put up with this! This makes me want to do something to stop it!

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.
