If you've ever had the (rather dubious) pleasure of driving an Orion II, I think those ones burned with a far greater frequency than Gilligs.

No, I have never had the pleasure. WDW is the only place that I have driven anything large that held more than 5 people.

While I don't like driving ES (because CM's can be worse than guests to us as I have already experienced), I always stop at Toontown. However, It's your fellow CM's who crowd on to the bus at the tunnel. If I tried to deliberately leave space on the chance that someone may be waiting at Toontown, I would lose my job!

Because of the way the ES runs, if I'm at the tunnel, I don't know that there are CM's waiting at Toontown. If I see CM's there on the way in, the other bus is susposed to pick you up on the way out. There is always at least 2 buses running ES sometimes up to 4 (at least on the weekends when I'm driving)

If anyone has a better idea on how to run the ES to keep everyone happy, I'm all ears and would be glad to submit to the CIP hotline.

I've only heard of the Orion II.

About the ES, when I am driving, I will always cram the Toons on, no matter what it takes.

As far as picking up at the Slab, when it's really, really full there's really nothing we can do. If you know a way to stem the tide there, with space still on the bus, please let me know.

One of my first days out at ES, I was extended until 07:00 on Grad Nite. At the exit, I filled up at the Tunnel and came up to Toontown to find about 30 people waiting for me. I wound up not leaving any behind.

However, I can understand the bus driver thinking you're going to make it on the next bus because he didn't leave anyone at the Slab and the next bus should have space in his mind.

I was going to take this farther, but I don't know where.

Just how do you expect a drive to get the long line at Tunnel to stop before the bus is full? Half the time too many get on over the driver's protests and some have to get back off.

My solution to Toontown? If a bus passes me, I cross the street and board the next one in the other direction. Guarantees you a seat on the way back! Plus it's faster than waiting for four buses.

I had a bus pass and found that at times it was easier in Los Angeles to ride half an hour to the end of the line and start at the very beginning. Late night at Disneyland it was not uncommon for the train to pull into Tomorrowland with no room for guests. In the parking lot I was at the last stop so I would take the tram around the full trip to get a seat.

Wallaby are you sure you are not cramming people into the bus on purpose? You are not like them Tokyo train dudes who shove people onto train, are you?

Zazu is right, best to cross the street take the bus around.

It would be a time to relax, read or chat on the cell phone so that you will not get passed up. If everyone in Toontown did that then the people hogging the seats would get the message, lol.

I prefer having the people packed in. If I see a turn ahead that I would normally take at 5 mph, I know I can take it at at least 20 when everyone's crammed on... I find that having everyone crammed in keeps them in place, and even gives them some padding! And with those curves between the Slab and the security gate, it's great to be able to keep my speed up.

Seriously, though... on the ES, there's no keeping people from crowding on like it IS Tokyo. They wanna get home... NOW! And they're willing to do whatever it takes.

Now Zazu, where's your sense of adventure? Going across the street to wait and add an extra minute onto your travel time just makes too much sense. How dare you do something that makes that much sense?!?

I feel really bad for the bus drivers sometimes. They have to repeat move back about 10 times (how hard is it to move all the way to the back of the bus?). I swear, I could never be that patient.

I know. I'm sorry. I suppose that's why I don't work at MK any more -- too much sense.

Well, more than my former area manager, anyway. (Like that's hard.)
