guests who act like they know more about disneyland than the cm

darn travel channel! all their specials are on WDW, so everyone automatically thinks what is true for WDW, must be true for disneyland
here is another example of a stupid guest thinking they know more than me the cm.
sg"you know i am so upset with the current disney management(this was in 97) they are closing down small world and jungle cruise"
me- well i haven't heard this
sg-"no they are, i have been visiting disneyland since it opened"
me-well as far as i know they are no plans to close either attraction.
well 10 years later both attractions are still operating with no signs of closing

can I just say, I've been coming to WDW since 1988 and my family knows about my love for Disney. My parents always inform me of the Travel Channel's WDW specials, which I think are quite informative and cute.

I can see DL guests getting mixed up with WDW knowledge, though.

I love those shows, too, dp. They're good for a Disney "fix" between trips. And every one I've seen (and I'm seen then all multiple times -- the beauty of Tivo!) is quite clear about being about "Walt Disney World in Florida." It's not the specials that are the problem, it's (as usual) the stupidity of the guests.

I second that, BRW. And, don't forget, certain CMs may not have the right answers either to some trivia. It could be that they are new recruits or whatever reasons that may be. For me, I would rather close my mouth shut, if such scenarios arise. You don't want to be "the center of attention" in these cases.

I have been to DLR, almost, at least once a year my whole life, so I know more than the average guest. Yet I still learn something new about the parks everytime I go because of casual converations with you CMs, random exploring ( it took me about 4 visits to discover Pacific Wharf in DCA which contains, in my opinion, some of the best food in the parks), and experimentation (by this I mean the easiest way to escape the Fantasmic! crowd exiting the park when you are caught in it). I might be able to walk Disneyland blindfolded, but wouldn't want to try, although I never need a map to find my way around (is it bad that I have visited so much I am starting to learn where all the bathrooms are without even thinking about it?).

I see these as nothing more than amusing diversions, and would only think of challenging them if it was a matter of safety. Sometimes it is hard to keep your mouth shut, but the offender will be more embarrassed getting caught in his error than to be corrected. Of course, if you are asked a direct question it should be answered truthfully.
