Let's Dance!

So, this weekend my wife and I went to Roanoke island. We visited the historic site and watched their 45 minute movie.

Before the movie, one family had their kids get up on the stage where the movie was being projected and dance, but they had the kids sit down when the lights started going down. This rant is not about them.

No, this rant is about the family that came in late and let their kids run over the stage and play in front while the movie was going on. WTF? I have never seen anything like it. When did it become appropriate to let your kids dance in front of a movie screen while people are trying to watch the film?

Eventually, a couple of us had to call out asking the kids to sit down, then they did. But still,

I used to go to a Catholic church where the kids were allowed to run up and down the aisle and fidget in their seat. My neighbor once had a kid turn around and play with a toy car on the back of the pew in front of her. She scared that kid so bad he did not move for a minute.

They are probably the same people whose kids run around the restaurants. Here comes the waitress with a tray of food and hot coffee and INCOMING KIDS. I am ready to duck under the table to avoid hot food and coffee on me.

They are probably the people who turn their kids loose in the banks and supermarkets. Mommy see junior using the ropes for a swing, oh how cute. Splat, scream and rope swinging is over while the people in the bank have to hear junior getting a spanking or screaming over a boo boo.

I ued to ride busses with them parent who would let their kids kick people. I have been a member of this site so long, I would not doubt it. I been watching he opus comic strip and Opus has a stun gun that uses to taser annoying people. Just a thought.
