I agree. Sometimes one just needs a little "physical education". :twisted:BRWombat wrote:Eh. I'm with Syndrome on this one. Education does indeed sometimes work, but in the middle of a crowded theme park, fending off SG's of all ages, when all we're trying to do is not have our day ruined... I think her method of "education" is quicker and more lasting. (And more fun! )

Re: Heelies
I swear I must have counted no less than 5 kids on heelies when I was in WDW this past week. In fact, I still remember the day that I went with my Disney Rep team to a local mall to do shopping and we passed by a shoe store while there. Guess what the display in the door was? You guessed it: a display of heelies.
For Narnia! And for Aslan!

And the sad part is,ANYBODY who gets hurt, will sue the closest party and not Heely. Be it Disney, your local supermarket/mall. :mad:hobie16 wrote:Apparently not. They're currently capitalized at 1.91 billion and their stock has been trending up since June 2006.
They (heely) gets 'rich',while the rest of us fight tooth and nail to pay our bills. :(

Yep, it's sad but true...I've been to way too many amusement parts (married to a coaster buff), and I've also been around plenty of demonic children on airplanes (we used to fly every week) and in other situations. Having tried to be polite many times, and having received reactions ranging from, "No speak English" to "F--k you," I have learned that physical is the universal language.CerasiJ wrote:I agree. Re: Heelies
Went to AK on Friday. I can't even begin to count how many heelies we saw. Trying to get my 2 year old to walk normal was impossible. Every time he noticed them, he tried to glide like them. The other people in my party thought it was cute. I was so annoyed because when he did that with his heel, he'd suddenly stop. It was so crowded, and he nearly got trampled over.

Re: Heelies
I constantly ask kids to pop their heelies out. I have had some parents give me attitude and tell me that no one else has said anything so I politely inform them that now someone has. I even had a guest tell me to leave the parenting to them. I informed the lady that it would be my pleasure but she should leave the safety to me and asked her to have her child remove the heelies immediatley or I would call security on my radio. It worked. I do however like the stand that the Dream Squad CM at MK used about Florida State Law. I'm going to use that from now on
Re: Heelies
Did it happen to be at The Loop? Last time we were there getting our Barnies Coffee fix (since the Celebration Barnie's turned into Starbucks) there was a huge kiosk with Heelies knockoffs out on the sidewalk.disneyprincess1988 wrote:I swear I must have counted no less than 5 kids on heelies when I was in WDW this past week. Re: Heelies
Yeah, the kiosk is on my short list if I ever decide to become a mad bomber. When that place first opened, I had to physically shove the idle teens out of my way so we could leave the theater. OTOH, I did meet the *new* security manager last month, and he swears that problem has been fixed.Syndrome wrote:Did it happen to be at The Loop? Now, if I can just convince him to start clothslining the heelys.... :faceplant
That reminds me. Saw a really great short film at the Florida Film Festival. The title of the piece is "Bitch", and the lead's hobby was clothslining in-line skaters. She's gotta be one of us!

Re: Heelies
Had a great one happen at the local Target a few days back. (yeah, I know) Anyway, both the brother and sister were skating through as fast as you please, one right behind the other. An employee, bless her, said "Hey, you kids! Stop skating in the store!" They both turned to stick their tongues out at her and wham! Sister fell on top of her brother and she started crying. Then they both get up and ran to wherever Mama was. I didn't see her so I assume from how quick they ran she was at the other end of the store. I hate when parents do that nonsense. It's even worse when they are right there and let it happen..
I got a good laugh out of it though.
