I know you are left, but I was curious abot the the time change thingy? I mean if you travel backwards fast enough, will you 'gain' time,or just delay the inevitable? (grabs coaster to check inevitable)
(man my head hurts,I need a beer. be right back) ;)

Well, it would appear that you would indeed "gain" time. However, the actual physics concept would not be that you "gained time," but that time actually slowed down.

Of course, it would depend on how fast, and if you are talking just straight time - no time zones, no International Date Line...etc

Now if you were to get technical...or get into quantum physics...

If you travel fast enough, yes, time will slow down. However, "fast enough," is about 0.8 to 0.95 the speed of light. Obviously, if you are lucky enough to travel at the speed of light, time would "stand still."

That is why the true science fiction books/movies have the spaceship traveling at close to or at (or even beyond) the speed of light. If not, the travelers would age during their journey.

Does that help ? :o:

I remember POTS well, and those CMs in the cloud overalls - the last time I was out to DL (for the grand opening of DCA...wow, too long ago!) my friends and I bumped into one of the blue over-all folks who happen to be my friend's former co-worker from WDW, who had transferred to DLR. He asked if we wanted to be in the parade.

So, yes, I donned the wonderful tutu...but unfortunately had a heavy backpack with me that I had to wear for the entire parade route/my "performance". It gave me a (very) slight insight into how it must be like for some of our parade performers with heavy costumes/battery packs, etc. etc.

Still, I had fun. I miss Disneyland - think next year I'm going to have come back out and visit.

Being a magician myself, I always go until their eyes water. If the eyes aren't watering, it's all just an act. If you stopped when he squeaked, you were being merciful.
Yup, performing stage magic is NOT for the faint of heart...

Trust me no guy would like that to happen to him. Most men do not want to sing soprano.

True, left. While time slow down 'relative' to the people on the starship(compared to planet Earth) .they 'would, still age. The neatest side-effect would the change in colors.(next time you watch ST/TNG,look at the stars in the back ground @ warp speed).
