jeez i LOVE to sit in the front. its the best ride in the whole damn park! When i was a little mousekateer(sp?), and i didnt meet the height requirements for the coasters (which meant i was three, i reached space mountain's limit at age 4) that was the best experience. I hope that i wasnt a stupid annoying brat kid. :D:

DLR Monorail CMs have always worn long pants only darph - with shirts of course. :) Have never seen any Monorail drivers wear shorts, even on code 90 days. Good question DLRDan! Research it for us. ;)

My family and I went to WDW last year and rode up front almost every time (I think there was one time we did not). We just like to sit back and enjoy the ride. My kids are very well behaved and just like to enjoy the view rather than pestering the poor driver with questions (they know s/he has a job to do).
I don't understand yet the quote mode on here so I copied and pasted this.

I didn't say all guests were doing those things in the cabs. I do have those one's where the children are well behaved, and always are so polite. These are the ones that make it so worth wild. I really most of the time, enjoy people in the cab. But the original question, as I understood it, was di we ever have any problems with guests. So that was what sparked the negative comments. Much like the dark side of monorail piloting. The fist fights are from guest to guest, Usually someone will read on the internet, that you sit on this certain bench, and you automatically get the front. Then someone else will as the loader if they can go upfront. Now you have two families that think they get the front. See the conflict?

The proper way, (the one that seems to work well), is ask the person on the platform and not the driver. Picture driving into a full station. There is allot of people looking at you to ride upfront. As a driver, you don't know if someone has been waiting to ride, or has asked the loader about riding up front. So the best way to control this and keep it fair is just make the request known when you arrive at the station.

I hope this clears up a few points, and I didn't confuse you too much. Sorry for the confusion. Come and look me up at Monorails, I usually work the Contemporary Resort.

LOL, no, I mean that DL Monorail pilots only gets to wear long pants, no shorts. I asked my HISTA lead, who also works monoriail, and he said that it is part of their costume. To me, it doesn't quite makes sense.

No, it doesn't make sense. Years ago they had a summer attire and a winter attire. There was no mixing. Either everyone in shorts, or everyone in pants. Our union grieved it. Now we can wear shorts in 40 degree weather if we want.

Stupid Cast Comment here: You are all part of an Union? And what Roles are under the Union? Only reason why I'm asking is over at the DRC we're not unionized, and I might be transfering over to the Parks soon. Or DCL.

I agree, it is the best ride in the park, and I must say, even if it annoys the pilot, I'll still ask to ride up front. Plus I don't want to be around the SG's riding in coach. Last time we rode coach, there were some (probably AP's) that kept saying the doors closing spiel, including the spanish part and then giggled to each other. This was the Epcot run (the BEST time to ride up front) and the only thing that I could think about was either opening up the doors and throwing them out, or jumping out myself...
