Friday was a weird day for me... I was a Stock Runner at Paradise Pier (which these days is weird in and of itself

What? Wait! I thought you didn't do Stock any longer. See, told you they'd never let you go because your fast & remember all locations. :) Pier must be hell these days. How do you CMs ever get around backstage @ Pier? Thanks Alyssa for putting the breaks on Heelie brats. :hi5: Keep it up!!

Scheduling just recently figured out that my medical restriction expired, and that I can do Stock again. I don't get scheduled Stock shifts; I only get them when someone calls out, they want me to fill in, the shift is equal to or longer in length than one I already have (if I'm already scheduled for a particular day), and I'm not already scheduled in Tower. :D:

Tower is my favorite location. I'm not going to shift-change out of that unless it's a longer shift and the start and end times are reasonably close to kampy's (who has an account here but still refuses to post for some reason... >.>) She and I try to carpool when we can, but it's been difficult with me in DCA Entry Plaza and her on Main Street; scheduling hasn't been kind to us. :p:

On that note, it was kinda funny one time when I got a call from Scheduling basically begging me to work at DCA. They were willing to give me anything, anywhere in DCA Stores. Whoever I was talking to on the phone said "Come on... You know you don't want Main Street..." and was shocked when I said "Actually, I do... Do you realize how difficult it was for me to get that shift to begin with?" They were like "You shift changed into that? "

Thanks for the update. :) Can't you get your restrictions as "permanent?" I had no clue there were two types until last week, & I wasn't informed by DLR either. ] "You really don't want MS" or "MS is too busy. You won't like it. You'll be sorry."[/B] My standard answer was "Bet me! Yes, I do want MS & that is where I'll be." Last Thurs. Scheduling called me for DCA shift. Guess she was new. Told her; "Look behind you. Talk to Brian abt putting me over DCA way. Called him back & he laughed. :D: Wish you would come over to MS. We need you!! & we have the BEST schedulers + 8 hr. shifts!

After playing at MK with family yesterday, I saw something that made my heart sing with Joy. We slipped into the monorail and grabbed some seats, a little kid about 6 wearing heelys rolled in behind us. Now, the monorail had just unloaded and so both sets of doors were open. SG junior rolls all the way across the cabin, out the opposite door, and eats it on the pavement. Mom starts freaking out and yelling at the nearest monorail attendant that she can see. The way she sees it: if they hadn't left the doors open on both sides her little darling wouldn't have gotten hurt. Enter Security (who happened to be standing nearby). The guard calmly explains to SG Mom that heelys aren't allowed in the park, and that she needs to remove the wheels or he will confiscate the shoes. Argument continues and finally in fear of missing the monorail, mom and kid run back on sans wheels. :p:

Saturday Feb. 17th, Plaza Inn, Disneyland- I had an evening shift. Girl and her family come up to the restaurant on Main Street in Disneyland. I noticed girl skated a teeny bit on the way up to the door, and I tell the family that "Heelies are illegal." I then tell the girl."While you're in here, walk as normally as possible... Perhaps you should take your wheels out while you're here, I wouldn't want you to bump into the other guests because of how crowded it is in here." Mom pipes up."Take the wheels out dear." I don't know if she did or not, but they went on into the restaurant to eat. I was greeting at the door at the time.

At DisneyQuest, the console at each attraction has a Heely tool and we are fully backed up by management on asking guests to use it. Haven't gotten the opportunity yet though.

Ha - saw the perfect incident today. Was over by the Lion King tram and had this family ahead of us with two boys on Heelies. The lady at the tent told the parent that the wheels would have to come out. Right when the dad is saying, "no Heelies?" his fat-ass older kid falls right on his posterior and the lady says, "that's why we don't allow Heelies."

Can you say "irony," dad???

Yesterday and today I was greeting outside the gates at BB since we were crowded. sneding people to the gates, the ticket vending machines, or the ticket and Guest Services lines. Also handing out park maps.

Two other things I was doing. One was making sure anyone who was smoking had a map, and mentioned the authorized smoking areas were located on the map and pointing them toward the only ash tray outside the entrance. I had no problems with that.

I was also prohibiting Heelies. In most instances the oarents had no probelm with it; I did have one father saying that it seemed to be OK in the other parks, but I did get him straightened out without trouble. Some of the kids with the more expensive Heelies had a button to push which moved the wheel further into the shoe, all the others removed the wheels.

The frightening thing was today when I saw a new variety of Heeley. Each one had two wheels, sort of like the following diagram:

At least the kid did pop the wheels out, but it looks like they are developing into something which will be even more dangerous.

Just a minor nit... the shoes with the retractable wheels are actually a knock off brand, and not Heelies.

There's a new movie at GMR and it's being shown outside.

Seems to me that this creates an even bigger chance of the kids falling if they have two wheels in the back and nothing up front. . .
