Stupid guest trick at Hall of Presidents

"Ok so we recently got back from our grand gathering with 14 family at the CR. One day while we were at the MK my parents took my DD4 and DS1 with them so my wife and I could ride some bigger stuff that they dont like. My Dad took them to the Hall of Presidents to see the show. While waiting in the preshow area my dad see a perfect playpen for my son and puts him in this little circular fence. Inside this circle is what he thinks he is fake presidental seal. Austin is on the seal for like 30 seconds and they even take pictures. IMMEDIATELY security shows up and says "SIR he cannot walk on the seal of the president"

While my DW and I knew that was one of only 2 offical seals and the other is what GWB walks around in the oval office, my parents said they had no idea. I asked what he thought the fence was for

While at the time I was aghast that they let him walk on the seal, now it is a bit funnier to me."

And a picture of their year old standing on the Presidential Seal:

I can't imagine why anyone would think that was funny. It would have been funnier to me if they had escorted the whole group out of the park, but, hey, that's just me.

People like this are a prime example of why it's time to abolish all warning labels and let the gene pool weed itself out.

"It's the difference between champagne and carbonated pee!" ....Homer Simpson

Exactly. Either let them learn to get smart on accident, or just let them die because they are too stupid to learn!

*Sigh*

I don't have enough energy to do a rant right now. . .

Grabs 268 (my smith and wesson at work), aims in at the adults, fires.

. . .

Then sends the kid to small world.

What a great picture!

Ok, I get how as a castmember it is frustrating that guests do not: Listen, read, pay attention, etc.

And if I had put my daughter in there and been approached I would have been mortified. I might have died there in the spot.

However, as someone reading this on the internet... I think it sounds funny. Not so funny I would do it, ever. But again.. what a great picture to get. I think the fact that it was an innocent mistake makes it ok.

wow. I don't think I have ever seen such stupidity un-frowned upon on another board. But then again, I don;t read that one. I am positive it has happened before...there's nothing new in the line of the stupid things our guests do.

A bit OT: And I wouldnt take too much of what a KTTK tour guide says at face value (no offence to any of you that might do this tour) but some of their info is given specifically for the purpose of seeing what they can get away with/starting silly rumors. It's the reason I take all my tours through the learning center.

To me, it doesn't sound like an innocent mistake. How can someone see a fence around something and think it is a playpen? How stupid do they have to be? A fence or barricade means keep out. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Well sure, and if you were a clear thinking person who was not on vacation, that would probably occur to you. But you guys see it everyday, someone is on vacation, caught up in all the excitement and fun and does someting without thinking. Presto... Stupid Guest.

I think there is a difference btwn what the OP listed and someone reading a plaque that says, "this is one of two presidential seals blah blah blah" and decides... "wouldn't it be cool to walk all over it".

Am I the only person who thinks it's weird that the only other presidential seal (but for the one in the White House) is at WDW. It's just bizarre. I have never been to WDW, but I would not have believed it was real, unless I read it was... and even then... I mean it's just strange.

I was a tourist with young children long before I ever moved to Orlando. If there was a rope or chain, i knew that was my clue that the area was off-limits.

An infant walked on the seal of the president. Big Deal. Now if the kid had gotten hurt because his absent minded grandpa placed him somewhere he shouldn't have been... That would be outrageous. If someone else had been hurt... that would be unforgiveable. If someone else's vacation had been screwed up or made less pleasant by this mistake ( I doubt grandpa knew the weight of his trangression), then I see getting all worked up.

Compared to all the crappy stupid things you must see people do all day long, this has got to fall pretty low on the list.
