Frankly, I think not. My brother works for a different police agency and those guys have their hands full with real crime. When accidents happen at the parks, they are just that - accidents. While certain attorneys would like the public to believe that there is probable cause of criminal negligence, that is not so. 95% of the time when people have been hurt or killed at Disneyland it's been because someone did something that they should not have done in the first place. Only rarely has it been because of mechanical failure, metal fatigue, etc. Why burden a police agency, including the Highway Patrol, with something outside of their jurisdiction?????tskbf2005 wrote:should teh california highway patrol take over ride accident invesgations from dosh?

Yes. But only after semis pulling 40 foot trailers are running up and down Main Street.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

I do not see how the Highway Patrol could deal with the different types of accidents and rides. The only way possible is if they had a department set aside only for inspecting rides and for investigating accidents. Since accidents could affect workers or be affected by workers then it would seem logical to keep it with OSHA. Poor training, overwork, or illness can cause an accident so how would the Highway Patrol deal with the worker related issues.

Seriously what are you smoking?

"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"
"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

I consider the rides I work to be like working dangerous heavy industrial equipment. Makes me think a lot more about safety, and underneath the fiberglass covers, that's what they basically are, much more so than street vehicles with driver errors being the cause of troubles.
