Query for WDW banquet folks (not a SGT)

Post by dash1bravo » Fri Aug 18, 2006 11:11 pm

My apologies if this is way too OT for these forums but I figure you folks can best answer this question (and I really, really don't want to wade through the inevitably insipid responses from the fan forums).

My fiance and I will be getting married at WDW later this year. We've received our initial budget which includes an 18% gratuity for the reception/beverages portion of the event. Now, it's my understanding that a lot of restaurants pull some sneaky stuff with these "non-optional" gratuities, insomuch as the gratuity never actually makes it to the event staff. It just ends up being pure profit for the restaurant.

So, can anyone tell me whether or not the CMs who actually serve our guests will get at any of this 18%? My fiance and I want to be absolutely certain that "our" CMs get taken care of so we need to know how much to budget for additional gratuities.

Thanks!

I work table service at WDW and yes, the 18% does actually go to your servers. Disney is pretty good about taking care of their serving staff with gratuity.

Awesome! Thanks very much, Stephanie. I know the service will be fantastic and it's VERY helpful that the gratuity will actually be a... um... gratuity. :D:
