Question about parade stops/ floats
I have a small question: I'll be at Disneyland from August 23-29, and being the Mickey/Minnie-crazy person that I am, I would like to know at what place along the parade route the float with Mickey/Minnie stops, so that I can take great pictures :D:
I know the first stop is at iasw, but it's virtually impossible to take good pictures there. So, where along that route does it stop a second time?
Thanks for your answers!

Re: Question about parade stops/ floats
It stops a second time on Matterhorn Way, it's almost always next to the Matterhorn but it could be just about anywhere along the it...the best place to try and sit to catch that stop is in front of the Alice bathrooms, but I'm not sure if it's actually a good spot....somewhere on Main Street it would stop again, but I'm not sure where. Also keep in mind that this applies only when the parade is traveling from IASW to Main Street, if it's traveling the other direction, the stops are all different.

You could always chase a water bottle across the street in front of a float. :D:

Re: Question about parade stops/ floats
My favorite spot was at the circle up front. The floats tend to back up there especially when people are trying to cross in front of the floats. There is an area that is roped off that allows you to shove a camera through the crowd on one side then run to the other side and repeat again. It is on the side opposite of city hall.
I would throw a doll in front of the float instead as knowing my history at Disnyeland I would be the first person to be flattened by a float. I could see the papers with the driver and spotters saying they did not see the fat lady.
If you really desperate then have someone with a walker or crutches slowly cross just at the last second. Drop some stuff, pick up stuff and drop more and you get the picture.
With the guests at Disneyland you cannot say for sure what will happens. I have had them sit on my purse and let their kids run in front of floats. Bambi Syndrome they dumb as deer staring in the head lights.

Re: Question about parade stops/ floats
We were at DL in May and I found the best place to take pictues was up on the train station platform for the 7 pm parade. Just parked my body to the right of the stairs at the railing (facing Main Street) and took over 100 fabulous pictures. No bobbing heads to worry about. :bugeyes:lady ulrike wrote:It stops a second time on Matterhorn Way, it's almost always next to the Matterhorn but it could be just about anywhere along the it...the best place to try and sit to catch that stop is in front of the Alice bathrooms, but I'm not sure if it's actually a good spot....somewhere on Main Street it would stop again, but I'm not sure where. I have wonderful pictures from the parade from last year, but I want better pictures from the Rat. And I know already I'll be too afraid to ask any CM whatever once I'll be there... just like at WDW in May (when I really couldn't find something because the maps are off

Re: Question about parade stops/ floats
Gee.... Now, how can one misplace a very large mountain at WDW? :D: As for getting pictures of the "two big eared rodents" together, I found two chances at DL. One was at the 10 am Opening Day Ceremony reinactment at the train station and the other during the parade. In both, I got pictures of Mickey and Minnie hugging and kissing :lovers:sandravb79 wrote:I have wonderful pictures from the parade from last year, but I want better pictures from the Rat. As a matter of fact, if I manage to loose a couple of more pounds in two weeks time, I might fit in my red-with-white-dots sundress again! Yes CMs, if you see a Stupid Guest dressed like that, it will be meI figure I pay enough money to be made fun of afterwards on these boards!
