A Feasability Question
I've got a question for those who are more familiar with characters and character costumes than I am.
My wife's birthday is coming up soon, and one thing I'd like to give her is a special photo album. My idea is to bring a banner (maybe 4-5 feet across), and have various characters around the park hold it so I can take their pictures. I'll put all of those in a photo album of Disney characters wishing her a Happy Birthday.
My dilemma is that I don't know how useful the hands are on some of the non-face characters. Would they be able to hold a banner like that for the picture?
Thanks for hopefully being able to clarify this for me!

Re: A Feasability Question
Most would. There are a few, like King Louie, who cannot sign or hold things. There are also a few who are rather large and might have trouble for that reason, like Beast. Most would be helped if the banner had loops at each end they could put over their hands. so they wouldn't have to grab the fabric of the banner itself.Belgarion42 wrote:I've got a question for those who are more familiar with characters and character costumes than I am.

Bottom line, just ask the character greeters in the yellow/white shirts who can do what. At the least, they can save you from waiting for no reason.
Of course, if it says something snarky....

From what I remember about Beast, is that his paws are too big to hold pens to sign (this from Disneyworld a few years ago as a guest experiencing the magic). Belle had to sign the autograph books for herself and Beast.

Re: A Feasability Question
When we took our neice to WDW a couple of years ago, I got those BIG Sharpie markers (not the standard 10 pack size).
I was just trying to make it easier for the characters to hold the marker. :)

Re: A Feasability Question
I'd say put a loop on each end so characters can either hold it through the loops or hold the sign itself.
^be careful with large pens as sometimes they are hard to grip. The clickable sharpies work really well.

Re: A Feasability Question
Thanks for your input, everyone! I was able to put a loop on each end (hopefully large enough), so that should solve the problem of anyone being able to hold it.
Now to see how many I can get in about 2 1/2 hours this Saturday!

Re: A Feasability Question
Thanks for your input, everyone. It actually took me 2 Saturdays (about 11 hours total
), but I ended up with 19 pictures (22 total characters), and they came out great! I didn't get Alice & her crew, as the Mad Hatter refused to let them stop for the picture as they "only celebrate un-birthdays!"
Totally in character, but kind of disappointing, really). Still, I got some I hadn't even thought of (Mary Poppins, Mater, Merlin), and everyone was very considerate and sweet about it. The only ones I missed out on (besides Alice & friends) were Lilo, Stitch, Mike, & Sulley.
Not a bad showing over all, and my wife loved the gift!
