Where are the signs?

I'm visiting from a firearms forum. The question has come up over there regarding the legal carrying of a concealed handgun in the park (as in off-duty LEO or a CCW permit holder). It is understood that a person carrying a gun (if he is carrying it legally) will be escorted by security to an area where his gun will be placed in a locker. Possession of an illegal weapon would obviously lead to an arrest by the Anaheim PD. Everybody agrees that Disneyland is private property and therefore has the right to ban carry--BUT--nobody can find a sign anywhere that informs said carrier that it is prohibited. Are there such signs? Is it printed somewhere in teeny tiny letters? Or is the bag search at the entrance enough of an implication in a legal sense?

With the formal question aside, I often wonder how you folks who work in Disneyland/CA Adventure maintain your sanity in dealing with us guests? You do a great job of putting on a smiling face when you must feel more like knocking heads together sometimes. Thumbs up from this frequent visitor/annual passholder.

When I used to be a bag checker they would tell us about officers who may come into the park with a firearm. I think if the ticket taker is notified, then they should know the right people to contact. And I don't know if it's posted anywhere about firearms and such. (Although it's now posted that the Buena Park Mall- I laughed at that sign)

Interesting question. The only sign I've ever seen is in APD office behind stage. Lotta good it does there ]

I'm sure it's a liability and insurance issue on the part of Disneyland. If the person's weapon should be lost or stolen, they would have to close down the entire park. And what happens if the gun goes off (guns can fire with the safety on) and someone is hurt or killed, the lawsuits would be outrageous. So the Company is protecting itself and the other guests. Besides, what do you need a gun in Disneyland for anyways? The Frontierland Shooting Gallery isn't compatible anymore, and I'm sure the Buzz Lightyear ride isn't either...

WDW used to quietly escort armed guests backstage to the sheriff substation so they could use the gun lockers there.

Since we began bag checks, we've discovered so many guns coming in that we've now built racks of gun lockers outside each of the parks. For perspective, the MK rack has 48 gun lockers!

And no, there's no posted signs at guest entrances, and only a few at cast entrances.

That's right, the only guns allowed in the park are the ones from Bizz Lightyear and the Shooting Gallery!!! That;s why we don't sell firearms, gum, or cigarettes in the parks!!

It is basically implied that you should not bring weapons to Disneyland. And as it was stated that Disneyland is Private Property, so they can do what they wish with rules on weapons. I am very thankful for that fact because I don't know how many CMs would still have all their limbs let alone their lives if Registered Firearms we allowed inside the park.

That was the consensus of those of us who go to the park often. There are always the diehards who refuse to be caught w/o their weapons. Scary to think about.

So, hypothetically speaking, when is the ideal time to mention that you need to visit the lockers? At the bag check? At the ticket gate? I can't imagine they'd want you to get past the turnstile.
