After the guest have left the park. After hours fun

Post by undead cm » Tue May 30, 2006 4:30 am

I work at Disneyland in the early 1980s for a few years, yes worked, I was a plumber so I had no contact with the guest. I had to make sure all that water got to the rides, cleaned. I was wondering does anyone have any funny after the guest have left stories? Some fun, and games, or tricks your fellow CM pulled on you after closing your rides, doing your walk thrus? Or other stories from people who keep the rides running, and the park looking good? I love all the stupid guest stories, you know they sound exactly like the same ones I heard back 25 years ago, I guess stupidity never changes.

It was funny just last week after the closing of Grad Nite, one of the facilities people played "Grim, Grimming Ghost" over the PA at Buzz Lightyear. I found it quite hilarious!!! All the Buzz CMs were looking around finding ouot where it came from!! It was loud, I mean REALLY loud, lol!!

After one, which not really after park hours, but at HISTA, we have what we call a "Sweepout", where custodial comes to HISTA and clean up HISta be going through the aisles and sweep up the floor. One time, one custodial CM came and had their iPods blasting though the microphone by placing the earphones on the mic as they sweep, I thought that was funny!!

I seen where CM put rubber snakes, or bugs in places were another CM or maint. might have to reach in a tight spot, or a drawer . I heard a few screams, than some cussing afterwards.

I allways worked after hours as a plumber apprentence, it seemed like a whole nother city after the park was closed to the public. This was in the early to late 1980s, yes Im a old fart. But back then I was young, and the movie by George Romero came out, Day of thge Dead, sometimes a lot of us acted, walked around like zombies, sometimes 3-5 of us would pretended to attack another of our little group called the deadheads, near the end of the shift, and when no one was looking.

The maintenance guys in Westworld come to mind.

DSK used to be done while guests were on the ride...the other cruise has jokes that can only be told after park is clear..
